I had read that, but I still don't know what it is. I'd imagine it attaches to the camera somehow? I'll google it.
Edit: Googled it, read about it, makes sense. |

Yeah, it's a filter that attaches to the end of your lens. You can then rotate the filter in order to remove reflections. You just rotate it to where you see through your eyepiece that the reflections are gone |

Welcome to the area! Carkeek is kind of a sucky spot for auto photos...tried it once, but it was just too busy and there wasn't enough nice background. I would try the Alki Boat Launch (always pretty decent) or Golden Gardens if you're looking for some water behind you.

EDIT: So I made it out to Magnuson this morning, but I woke up a little late so I didn't get there until around 10:00 ish. Apparently there was some huge marathon today so most of the parking lots were really full.. So, again I couldn't take all the shots I wanted. But this was probably the best picture I was able to get before the horrid 12:00 sun (even though 10:00 sun isn't much better). I accidentally shot it with the visor down and with two trees poking out of the top.. But other than that what do you think? 50mm, f/2.8, ISO100, 1/1600, manual focus Last edited by PurpleDoors; 09-24-2011 at 04:39 PM. |

I'm just bummed I didn't get to come over. LOL Something a little different in post, tried to fit the vintage feel of the car. I also was experimenting with wide angle panning which is fun - a much different perspective when you're close up. What do you guys think? Edit: It's better at a higher resolution, click here. It's actually raining in the shot and you can see some drops above his head. Last edited by CallMeJag; 09-26-2011 at 07:11 PM. |

hi res is much better, i agree on that. i like the style of vintage edit. but that car must have been traveling quite slow. (assuming turning into cars and coffee parking lot?) i think it needs a little more panning motion to complete the feel. did you snap any slower than 1/80th?

Yep, he was coming into the parking lot and he was slowing down quite a bit at that point. I was shooting at 1/80 with a lot of good results for the cars pulling out of the lot and flooring it down the street. So I zoomed way out and shot at the same speed when I saw this guy coming my way.
