I'm registered. Finally getting the rx7 out to the track

Next season it should be little to no car changes and a lot more track time.

I should since I've only done 1 track day this year with the bigger brakes, wider wheels/tires, and EWG.

Ahhh I would love to do this and it's on my birthday...too bad my stock FXT isn't ready for something like this. Maybe next year!

Why not? Stock automobiles usually do fine... just make sure everything is up to snuff (tires, pads, fluids)

This and really any tires will do if they have enough tread. Brake pads and fluid are the only mods needed for track.

Yes...I actually tracked my STi when it was stock but I don't even have time to do the brakes before then. Thanks though

What part of Arkansas are you from? I grew up in Beebe.

Trying to decide whether my OEM brakes will be good enough to get me through a hyperdrive session. I have XP8s for track days, but it seems like a big waste to install them for a 20-minute session. I would like to run the WRX for 1 more short session before winter but don't want to spend an hour installing the pads and an hour going back to stock. I am in the midst of prepping my e30 for the final rallyX of the season (the following weekend), so wrench time is short.

I have to swap to winter wheels soon so putting on my track tires for the day would not be a big deal.

Thoughts on the stock brakes for one 20-minute session?

It's a 32 minute session, shared with HPDE1 Although if you're not already signed up or on the waiting list, etc.

I thought that hyperdrive was by itself. At least it was last time that I did one. (Edit: Looked again- I see the combo with HPDE1 on the schedule.)

Regardless of the actual duration and the company, can the WRX brakes handle the single session? The XP8s never even began to fade in 3 30-minute HPDE sessions. I drove my NA '08 Legacy with stock brakes in a hyperdrive with no issues, but that car was not exactly fast in the sections where the WRX builds up speed. Not sure whether the WRX will get up enough speed to outrun the braking capacity.

The brakes have SS lines and 600rbf on a recent flush, stock rotors, and (currently) stock pads.

Further edit: Now I see that the question is moot. Well, that solves that...

At a regular NASA weekend it would be. This a special event, plus we're daylight limited, and somewhat instructor limited too. Which is why Hyperdrive registration is full and closed, with a long waiting list...

One day entries are now available in HPDE3, 4, and TT!

Oh the sound of a Subaru! This from last years event. Taking it easy because it was really cold, and there was a lot of traffic.

I am registered in hpde 3! Looks like its going to be a great turn out as usual! I'll be shaking down new motor and some other goodies, trying to get this car prepped for tt sometime next season ..should have a little more passing oomph on the straights now and a little more stopping power to match the added hp! I can't wait. I'll be setup somewhere near fjstix and his 2011 STI and my old mans SSI built 944 turbo as well, who will be running in hpde2. Stop by and say whats up! Look forward to meeting some of you!

I seriously think in a few years my next track day car is going to be one of the BRZ turbos.
