Are these the same people who said they would move to Canada if Obama won?
Talk about some sore loosers, guess some people can't stand to wait four years.
That, and what would we do with all the 'hippies' in Austin?

I agree but I do think of it fron a business stand point if the country is going to collapse from the mounting debt and Texas is not the cause of it don't you think it should be considered?
Each person in this country owes over 35k in national debt and texas is normally 4%+ on our debt
So should we let the rest of the country drag us down?
Also I don't care if we have a pink Democrat president!! I just want a president that's not out of touch with reality

Yeah, not too many presidents can give you the price of a gallon of milk after a few years in office (if they weren't in fact told what it was in a briefing memo, no kidding, they tell them in a memo).

I don't even want to think about the export/import taxes Texas-less-USA would charge us. Ugh.

Will half the Californians and New Yorkers, etc. who voted for the people who screwed up their state / local economies go back to where they came? If so, then I say sure, why not!

OK, so (this is all built on technicalities, if you want to know more do your research) Texas in the eyes of the US federal government does NOT hold the right to secession, it is part of an indissolvable union. However TECHNICALLY any state has the right to secede and then the US federal government has the right to take military action toward and against that state. SO is it legal? well no, not really. Is it possible? with Texas yeah very much so. Will it happen? Don't bet on it.

http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/
this shows YOU owe another country 51,817.97. and so does your wife and each kid! don't you think it matters?

If they applied it to the debt AND reduced spending...but they wont..they will spend every extra penny they get.

Pretty much Big Hitter.

PS: I find it ironic that the public perception of Congress is bad and most people feel that the bums should be run out of town. Yet almost all the incumbents got re-elected. I guess it is that "your" Congressman is bad and "mine" is good.
