-20AN???
Jesus. We run -12 on our cars (but also 1/3 the displacement engine.)
Where you getting your parts from? Without a friendly hookup, the cost has to be outrageous.

Thanks for the kind words, but yea no hook ups, Just jegs for all the AN stuff. But -20 is the same ID as the water pump / thermostat housing on my ls engine. I bought -16 and it seemed small. The radiator came in the car when i purchased it, Probably going to buy a nicer core and weld An fittings on it. Just like to have it a little cleaner / better looking radiator. But this will be on down the road.

sometime during summer. main hold up is money to finish buying parts. Should have the engine and trans bolted in by the end of the week. If I could pay off the subaru, id got get another loan and have everything I needed and be only a few weeks of work to finish it up.

Update... I haven't done anything to the car since picking up the engine from the machine shop last friday. I'm not happy with the work done on my engine, due to the fact the engine builder smeared red rtv silicone all over brand new Gm gaskets, Lifter cover, front timing cover and rear cam / main cover... They didn't have my oil pan at the time so it wasn't installed. If anyone has messed with gm ls engines, Only a small dap of grey rtv if any is needed at the corner of the oil pan where it meets the timing cover. I went back to the shop monday to talk to the owner. They claim its what they do so it wont leak. I was like really, I supplied brand new GM gaskets. You wasn't reusing old gaskets and at that you can reuse gm gaskets and not have problems with it. I didn't tell you to put red trv on both sides and over the whole gasket. At this time I'm really biting my tongue, b/c i was told it would be 2 weeks before they even got to it. And i was never given a price quote which he said he would do. Exactly 2 weeks when he was suppose to start on it, they called and said it was done. I was like well okay, you never gave me a price, he was like well its $1275. So yea really blind sided with that, b/c i supplied everything besides piston rings and cam bearings. I even built the heads so they didn't even touch them. Got charged 600 bucks just for assembly of my engine like some back yard mechanic may of done on a old school 350 with tin covers.
After I told him I had already posted pics of the engine and his work on LS1tech, and that everyone agreed with what i thought, no knowledge of ls based engine. Then he changed his tune and said he would fix the problem, buy new gaskets and so on... But really at this point I do not want them touching my engine. I highly doubt they gaped my rings for boost as well. As I had the gap size stated on my spec sheet what i wanted it to be. So looks like I have to eat 1275 dollars and buy new gaskets and pull the whole engine back down and double check it. Not going to have a piece of silicone come loose and clog my oil pump or somehow find its way into my turbo line and oil starve it. Well this is my rant for the day... If you think im aggravated... Im way past that point.

Damn that sucks. I know the feeling of being let down/losing $$$ by a ****ty mechanic claiming they can do the work properly...

Hope you get all of it resolved!

I was mad when my machine shop said they would not assemble my wrx motor. I guess I should be grateful.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Sounds like that shop is crap. Did somebody recommend them?

Just they are the closest machine shop, I've used them a few times for machine work. My dad was a mechanic for 30 yrs and he always used them but I know he never did any ls work.

/\ adding to the dab of rtv on the front corners of the pan---there is also a procedure to align the front timing cover around the crank pulley--don't forget to do it or it can leak.

This isn't the first ls engine I've done, I've done several. Just I have a full time job now, only reason why I thought i would save some time and have a machine shop assemble it. Should of done it myself.

Good luck with the engine/machine shop troubles. I know how frustrating that process can be. Hopefully the shop will make good on their corrections.

I was going to update the build today. But i forgot my memory card to download the pics today at work... But I've had some ideas on how I am going to run the fuel lines and brake lines in the engine bay.

Ac outlet/Inlet block off plate.

Dual -6AN bulkheads for the fuel lines that will hook directly to each fuel rail.

Aluminum Radiator plate that I built, Just mockup, Still gotta get some fancy bolts for the finished product

As for the fuel setup. Dual Bosch 044 Pumps mounted in the back by the fuel cell, along with a rear mounted FPR. Single -8 feed line to the front firewall, (passenger side), then a -8 Y fitting to dual -6 outlet to each bulkhead located on the firewall. Lines will be routed through the cowl.

I have really been debating on doing a rear straight axle swap, ford 8.8 or a 9inch... Just a thought, really thinking the dss hubs and axles aren't going to hold up. Just have the new hubs redrilled and have the same lug pattern. I did a straight axle swap in my 93 rx7 as well, when I did the ls1 in it.
