Smile New WRX owner - snow tire fitment

So I'm balling on a budget as I've purchased my 2016 WRX last month. I'm all stock but I'm looking into snow tires - I've never purchased snow tires before so this is a first for me.

I'm currently rocking stocks at 235 / 45 / R17

I found a set of Blizzak on Steele's with the same bolt pattern.
These snow tires come in at 225 / 50 / R18 - they were previously on a 2015 impreza

Now I've done research and I've tried comparison charts but I'm still in this grey area. I found them for a crazy deal and I planned to buy them off this guy and have them put on at the dealership.

Anyone have any advise or resources to share?? Thanks

Long time lurker, finally decided to post my car/specs

Year: 2017
Make: STI
Suspension: HKS Hipermax IV SP (no height adjustment, HKS pre-set height)
Wheels: Volk TE-37 Saga Bronze 18x9.5+38
Tires: 265/35/18

Slight rubbing only on big dips at high speed. Had my fenders slightly snipped in the rears to compensate for the rubbing.

year: 2001
model: WRX Sedan
wheel model: work emotion cr kiwami
wheel size/offset: 17 x 8, Unsure on what offset to go ? stock is 55mm
tire brand/model: Anything, recommendations ?
tire size: 225-235/40, what fits easiest?
suspension: Dobi low springs (still decently high ride)
alignment: N/A
fender mods: Dont want to roll guards

The 2019 I just picked up has summer only tires (old 02 wrx bit the dust wrong time), so I need some winters. will these rims work on the 19' WRX: 17x7.5" +48mm offset, 6.18" BS

Hi,

This is my first post here. I've made a Wheel calculator and I want to post it here. But because I don't have 3 replies yet, I cannot start a new Thread with all the informations.

Here is an image of an FR-S to tease you, but the calculator have 2015-2019 WRX and STI

Thank you.

Nice set up, I'm hoping to do the same thing, just on a different wheel. Just can't find the wheel in the right offset.

Thanks for posting,
Joe

suspension:Stock. Would like to lower an 1"

It seems everyone is saying (with near similar tire specs) that 225/40 is too rubberband-esque and that 235/40 would be better. Will I still get by with a 235/40 on a 45 offset with 1" lower?

Will do spirited driving, but mostly daily. Roads in local area are quite crappy.
Did these work out? Im trying to find good specs for my 05 wrx with stock suspension but I can't seem to find any good fitment numbers.

Default Fitment Question on newer models

Has anyone tried running 19x9.5 +22 on a a 2015+ sti? I have a 2019 sti. I've been doing some research and I have seen most people getting away with a +35 offset without touching their fenders. I wouldn't mind getting the fenders rolled but I want to stay away from adding camber to the wheels. Has anyone done it?
