Default Open Loop to Closed Loop Transition

I've been paying a lot of attention lately to my AFR Gauge and it seems to take a long time for my car (02 WRX 16bit ECU) to get back to closed loop after a shift or just releasing the throttle out to 5-30% from 40-50%.

Seems to take my car 5-10 seconds to get back to 14.7:1.

Anyone know if the Closed Loop to Open loop tables also apply in reverse when going from Open to Closed?

Thanks
Ron

This is explained in the sticky at the romraider site.

When throttle and load are both below the tables' thresholds (hysteresis) then the counter is reset to zero and you potentially enter closed loop, again, depending on the primary fuel enrichment.
However, post up some logs on the romraider site (including the cl\ol status, load, rpm, TPS and your fuel map, delays, and cl to ol throttle and cal load maps (if non-zero delays)).

Mine seems to go from open to closed loop in under 1/2 second when I let off the gas.

You should run the learning view tool from Romraider and see what your fuel trims are. Maybe your MAF or injector scale is wrong so, it's having to add or remove alot of fuel to hit 14.7

i dont think thats it. I think its because my turbo inlet hose is off the turbo lip so i am sucking in unmetered air, but it seems like that should make me lean....who knows. I have an APS inlet and TGV deletes going on soon, i was just curious as to how the transition back to closed loop was calculated by the ECU.
