Reminds me of the time I stayed at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas. Only the floors below you were below and behind. So it was a straight drop. Didn't bother looking down whenever I left the room.

Now, if you think thatís strange. Hereís something even weirder. The number of injuries a domestic cat has from a long fall actually seems to go down above a certain height, specifically above about seven stories tall.

Their terminal velocity is non-fatal. That actually apparently applies too lots of small mammals

I can't remember the amount of tree limbs/elevated deck posts/etc. I've seen mine perched on with nary a care or worry of the potential fall. The thought of fear just doesn't exist in their tiny little brains.

....and yet this explains some of it I think. I remember reading some kind of study as a kid. Some physicist/sociopath who threw cats out of a skyscraper to learn this odd phenomenon.

It wasn't this wiki but it was some dude who actively sought to prove the theory by punting cats out a window at various heights.

All it takes is one fly to get the cat's instinct to kick in and swat at it and fall. There's not enough cat sorcery to save that cat from that height.

You'd think so, but you'd be wrong.
