Default 2004 WRX intercooler into 2006 WRX? HELP!!!

Hello, sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, i also posted this in the Factory 2.5L Turbo Forum. I recently bought a 2004 WRX intercooler for $20 off a buddy who wrecked his car to replace my beat up 06 one. I wanted to know if i could make this intercooler fit into my 06. I tried to do it with the factory 06 hoses but it just seemed .5" off. A buddy told me to get a grimmspeed tmic y pipe kit because of the longer hoses, but before i spend $100 i wanted to know if this would even fit. It seems like there are pre-drilled mounting holes to fit the shorter TMIC but, even without the IC hoses i was having clearance issues with some other piping under it. Please let me know if anyone has any luck with this swap. My 06 IC is leaking so i'm only getting around 6 PSI of boost WOT. So yeah i'm gonna need to figure something out.
