Default Single AVCS operation relating to oil pressure

Good day,

I am looking for information about the operation of single AVCS relating to oil pressure.

After I reset the ECU and drive the car until oil warms up I notice the oil pressure is 20 psi lower than normal. After I clean myself up (from crapping pants) I see the AVCS is not working (Cobb AP shows 1 or 2 deg of adv with no action upon accl or decel). I pull off the road and bring the car to complete stop then the AVCS zeros out and oil pressure returns to normal.

Two vehicles (05 STi and 04 Forester XT) experience this condition.

Reason I am asking: My 04 Forester XT on three occasions now has lost 20psi of pressure on cruise and idle with no ECU reset.. it just randomly happens when I am driving and oil is up to temp.

LH and RH AVCS are operating fine when this occurs. After a 10 miles or so the pressure returns to normal.

I am wondering if the any part of the AVCS circuit could be causing this.

Note: I have not confirmed with mechanical gauge yet, this weekend will install. AVCS filters have been removed, Blackstone oil report shows no bearing contamination,

Thanks

Jeff
