How clockable are the compressor housings?

Would I be able to orient the compressor outlet straight up? In stock location (not rotated)

These things are a piece of ****ing cake to clock, you can spin everything however you like. Just loosen up the v-band clamp on the compressor housing and unbolt the iwg canister bracket and spin it however you like. Then bolt everything back together. And its 4 bolts to do the turbine housing in addition if you need to clock that too.

That's good to hear. I was worried the IWG actuator was locked in to the compressor housing orientation.

Hmm. I have some ideas for the future then

Well there is a small section of rotation that isnt possible since the iwg can and the compressor outlet would want to occupy the same space. But beyond that. No problems.

So back to what I said. Can I orient the outlet straight up? Vertical. Pointing to the hood.

I missed that part of the post, that would be a yes, mine is currently in that config, all be it upside down from it (turbine inlet facing up, compressor outlet pointing down). I believe it did require some specific positioning of the v-band for the compressor housing to clear the iwga, but thats no big deal.

Nope. You first adjust the turbine housing so that when its bolted to the up pipe that the oil drain is pointing down. Then adjust the compressor housing.

Get yourself a good shop that can fabricate if you can't do it yourself and make your own kit. It's not rocket science dude! Think about what you just posted! You have the best header just figure it out!!

each kit comes with an up-pipe maybe they can meet in the middle ...lol I just wonder if a factory location efr with minimal piping on both sides will out perform the best factory location twin scroll setup without complications like ewg's and such

The problem is still the internal gate and where the gases dump from the gate. Maybe if you increased the size of the exhaust.

But the internal gate on the EFR really isnt a downside. I would bet real money that a 6758 running the iwg or an ewg will make the same power and spool up the same. BW intentionally designed that iwg to be the best possible iwg situation.

It's still dumping into the main exhaust! It's still creating turbulence within the housing! I'll cover your bet and double it!

The other thing I've seen is the swing and angle of their waste gate opening leaves something to be desired.

I agree with leafy - these things are REALLY easy to clock with the iwg bracket bolted on the bearing housing.

manitou, nobody likes misinformation. either learn the tech - or don't click 'post'.

Maybe I just haven't seen it but why doesn't anyone make a kit that replumbs the ewg back into the downpipe. I see the dump tubes they sell. I suppose I could dta but that wouldn't be illegal enough for my taste need the antilag too and thats getting exspensive

Look at the current ewg setups, there isnt much room in a stock location ewg setup to even add a dump tube, never mind actually getting the ewg tube to merge back with the down pipe at an angle that wouldnt induce more turbulence than an iwg steup.

Sorry Geoff, I've read the tech and do understand what they're trying to convey. I just do not really believe it and have not seen the results to prove differently. I do like the wheel pairings of these EFR's that aspect of them as well as the SS housings and cartridges seem great!

How many models have the EWG option? That's what I would personally use!
