Default Testing coilpacks

I have an 2008 WRX with individual coil packs on each plug. What is the proper way to test these, I do not have the repair manual yet

Use a ostilliscope(spelling)..... scope firing voltage and actual burn voltage which should be about 1/4 of the fire voltage.

You think you're down a cylinder? Unplug them one at a time, you should feel/hear the cylinder drop if it was working.

are they 'bloated' or split or 'distorted' or smell burnt????

if so.....they should be replaced

usually...if you move them to other cylinders and the issue follows the move..they are bad
