Hate to burst the bubble of the hopes of so many, but the Longshoremen of the Port of Baltimore belong to a union. I am going to bet money that Veterans Day is a holiday for those union members. So the ship will most likely drop anchor in the bay or slow their pace and dock Tuesday.

I deal with unions in construction and I know half of the projects are running slow tomorrow as a result.

Whoa....that's a long wait. I'm not sure I could be that patient. Maybe I need to start looking around for leftover STi sedans in Socal.

I ordered a 2013 WRX Base DGM on 8/30 and finally got the VIN 10/22. The dealer said subarunet had 2 dates: a scheduled date of 11/8 and an estimated arrival date (ETA) of 11/20. I called SOA and asked what the dates meant and he said the scheduled date might have meant when its supposed to arrive in port. I ordered in the DC/northern VA area, so the car comes through Baltimore.

The good thing is that it seems like several of us have ETA's for 11/20, just like last month had a lot of people with ETA's of 10/14 or 10/22. I'll be calling my dealer tomorrow/Tuesday to see what the latest news is. If it doesn't come till next week I won't be able to get it till after thanksgiving so I'm really hoping it gets here this week. I think I've got a good shot since I'm only an hour away from the port. I'll keep you all posted, but I'm feeling lucky!

you guys who are getting these 2013s...

are you noticing any strange paint defects or damage on your cars?

i had a major issue with my "old" new 2012 STI and got out of it without losing anything after a lot of legwork over several months. i pretty much swore off Subaru at that point but unfortunately, i can't find anything else that really seems worth it right now so as much as i'm hesistant to go through this again, i am thinking the STI simply might be the best bet.

my lone experience with the brand was so rough though so it's somewhat hard to swallow this pill.

What color was your car? Was it related to the infamous tire shine fiasco?

There's a thread on here somewhere. Whatever tire shine the dealers were using was slinging onto the paint around the wheel wells and causing rust spots. I believe it was only noticeable on the white and silver colors.

I'm curious what other people's VONs are. I just got mine along with my VIN. I ordered 10/31 got my VON/VIN 11/12. Does anyone else have 1115 as their VON? He said its still to far out for an ETA.

My paint is fine apart from a chip on my front fender, and two scratches caused by my dumb ass self. I think you are going to have a hard time finding someone that had the same issue as you did, since it was barely noticeable based on your pictures you posted in your thread that no longer exists. I think your color, ISM, also made it easier to detect those defects you found.

Ordered on 8/30 and received the VON on the same day. Didn't get a VIN, but the car arrived on 11/9

thanks for your input! i appreciate it.

due to legal agreements, i can't talk much more about that car (hence me pulling the thread). i want to explain why it was more than what you know and what i tried to show on here in that thread, but i can't.

my main concern is getting a car that will be undamaged by someone else prior to me getting it. there is a lot involved in shipping a car from Japan and a lot of opportunity for a car to get damaged. port or pre-delivery damage is one thing - most of the time nobody ever notices but when someone does, it sucks royally. that's what i'm trying to avoid.

i know the risk of that happening is very very small but it's funny - after all of this was said and done, i was reading Road & Track and when they were trying to get a BRZ for their test fleet, it was delayed several weeks due to paint issues that needed to be addressed. that stung a little and compounded things when it came to my perception of Subaru.

My dealer just called. The car just came off the truck! Looks like Leo Leader did release my car in JAX.

Order the same car at multiple dealerships and choose the one that passes your inspection. I understand why the thread was removed and I think it's bogus. Try to grab one of the orange special edition ones, maybe they will be extra careful while transporting those.

One step closer. Just got my VIN. And the car appeared on the dealer website as in transit.

SoNE
Ordered 2012 on April 25th
Order Converted to a 2013 on July 26th
VON: N/A (Under SoNE)
VIN: 11/12 Car marked as In transit
ETA: ????

Perhaps I'm on the LEO LEADER?

It's kinda sad that I'll have to have the dealer throw on winter steels before I even get to drive the car.

Just called the dealer and found out my status was updated to "Released" and the ETA is now 11/19.

Does anyone know what "Released" means? My dealer wasn't sure but thought it might mean the port released it to the trucking company or something (no rail for me, I'm an hour from Baltimore). I called SOA and they didn't know what "Released" means either.

Ordered 8/30 - DGM Base WRX, VIN 10/22

I doubt he got his VIN. I ordered 10/27 from Heuberger and was given an ETA of February. I got my VON right away, but that's something you should have anyways just from you dealer putting an order into subarunet (or w/e).

I don't expect a VIN until January at the earliest. I doubt they'll even be making my car until late December .

Yes, I did get it. Or at least the last 8 digits. I didn't get a NAV so maybe the order is being processed faster? That's what I'm hoping at least

I'm not sure. The dealership I'm working with is Colonial sSbaru in Danbury Connecticut. Is Connecticut SOA?

IDK I'm just very skeptical considering the official word at the moment from late October was that they were super behind on production and 4 month is the minimum wait period now.

I ordered a completely bare bones 4-door STi, so the nav has nothing to do with it.

Hmm. Interesting. Well we did only order 4 days apart... Maybe he is just lying? I guess it's possible. I hope not. When I ordered they said December would be when I could expect it by but that was probably just the salesmen talking.
