Awesome. Maybe this is a move in preparation to change their name to Pontiac instead...

I can never buy a Buick because of the name. My grandparents had a buick. They drove like grandparents. The stigma is forever.

Dear auto journalist'

This is a Buick badge:

This is a Buick nameplate:

They are eliminating the nameplate, not the badge.

I guess the 'representatives' got it wrong.

Well, marketing doesn't often understand what they are selling. It's not surprising.

You mean the chick that failed as a runway model because she was 5 lbs too heavy so she got an MBA and a job at GM in marketing?

Yeah...

On a side note, I've never understood why some manufacturers put a nameplate and badge on the same area of a vehicle. Do they figure their badge isn't recognizable enough? Isn't one or the other enough? Don't they realize it's cutting into the available space for dealership stickers?

On the other hand, sometimes even that isn't enough since some people feel the need to add license plate frames with the manufacturer's name on them as well

I purchased Audi from Audi Fairfield (Conn.), they always give me great deals, no nonsense, don’t charge me all the wierd fees obtaining to Conn. since I’m from out of their State. They use a really thick gaudy plastic Crome look like plat holder. In Conn. they have front and back license plates. Deal was done I’m walking up to my new black bad Ass Audi and this college aged car washer prepper is in the front with an electric drill ramming screws by eye into the fromt bumber grill area, he made his own license plate holder area. He was putting their license plate holder with their logo around it and logo license plate in the holder. The other guy, show room floor greeter etc, walks me out to my ride, I looked at him my face was cherry red ( she told me), I’m like we don’t have front plates, take that off. That’s when I see the Holes four in the front that aren’t suppose to be there. I was pissed off. Where still In Limbo on thi#, guess I’ll get something. If it was close by, oil changes, detailed, etc. but I’m in PA, so I don’t know.. give me cash , I’m leasing so.. who knows

New bumper skin. Then again, you're leasing, so you don't really own it.
