Default Cordless leaf blower for car drying

Can anyone recommend a good cordless leaf blower for car drying?

TIA

I have an old school plug in one but it weights nothing. Just go to Lowes or home depot and see what fit your price range. Don t over think it.

I'd recommend this: https://www.mckees37.com/car-dryer.h...ABEgJpsvD_BwE#

I realize it's not a cordless leaf blower, but the fact that it heats and filters the air was enough to sell me on it. Plus it's lightweight, powerful, and I'd consider it one of my top 5 best purchases when it comes to car care/detailing products. Just my $0.02

I just bought that through Amazon. Washed the car yesterday and wasn’t impressed. First the cord wasn’t long enough. Second it’s not easy to maneuver between the hose and balancing the motor. It does have decent power, but not much better then the Adams side kick that I bought and returned. I’m going to probably return the McKee and if I’m not happy with a cordless blower, go back to the sidekick.

I use a Gas Backpack Blower - just make sure it's a 4 stroke - so your not blowing oil everywhere.

I would also say if you want lower cost - just go with a high powered electric leaf blower.

Sorry to hear that you didn't like it...I'd encourage you to give it another try or two, it took me a little practice to find my groove with it. I had to adjust the strap to keep it from riding too low on my side, and that was the first thing that made a big difference. I also keep the hose behind my back because it is a bit on the long side and that helps to equalize the length a little bit. I keep one hand on the blower unit and the other on the hose and I'm able to move around the car pretty quickly and blast 95% of the water off with ease now. I usually have an extension cord out for the vacuum and pressure washer anyway, so the cord length was never an issue for me.

After trying to maneuver some of the larger cordless electric blowers, I decided to stay with the McKee. I think I’ll just get a small utility cart with wheels and let it sit on the cart. I’m hoping we don’t get rain this weekend so I can give the car the full detailing it deserves.

I have used a leaf blower to dry my cars for over 20 yrs.

I also use it on my mountain bike twice a year when I give it a serious wash. Low pressure water spray and the leaf blower to dry everything out. Have had no corrosion, or rust problems. Air compressor works great too.

I actually bought a leaf blower and it sucked. Yes it can dry the car, but it took longer then using the metro sidekick. I decided to get the metro master blaster. I'm going to use it this weekend. At least I have a light weight leaf blower. I have a heavy one that's also a vac.

McKees looks great, but at that price point, I believe you're better off buying an air compressor.

It does heat the air. I had the McKee and returned it. It was too hard to maneuver. I bought the Metro Master Blaster and used it today for the first time. It also blows hot air, and much easier to maneuver since it’s on wheels with a skinnier hose. Very happy with it, even though it’s expensive. I did get 20% off the price through Bed Bath & Beyond.

For me the idea of pulling the unit around on wheels felt like using one of those 2-piece vacuums my parents had when I was a kid and I hated that thing so much! If I had a more permanent shop/garage, I'd probably get one and wall mount it...but I move too frequently. Glad you found a solution that works for you though!

Get 6 AC powered leaf blowers.. mount them to a frame and just drive the car thru it.

That’s actually a cool idea. Would work for most garages though.

You'd need a pretty hefty electrical system at like 5 to 10 amps per blower...

I just picked up the 600 cfm Worx corded blower for dedicated drying purposes.. the Toro I use for the yard was ok but was a little slow due to the lower flow rate. Also ordered some of that u-shaped adhesive rubber you are supposed to use on your doors so you don't ding things.. going to put that on the edge of the blower to hopefully avoid any accidental damage to the paint should I bump it with the blower.

A few weeks ago I applied McKees 37 Hydro Blue sio2 and it works great. Only took 10 minutes with the Master Blaster to get the car 95% dry.
