Will going from a stock (16 mm) rear sway bar to larger one (say , 19mm STI one) make the ride quality stiffer/harsher? or does the rear sway bar only really affect the ride quality during cornering?

A very good upgrade if you are doing any spirited driving, autocross or even like to take on/off ramps quickly. |

Just want to confirm that the 2015 STI 20mm rsb will fit on a 2013 base 2.0? I know I need end links and associated hardware. I read that the 2015 20mm fits on 2015 impreza but just want to make it will fit on 2013 base impreza before I order it thanks.

It's the same car. You'll need endlinks for the base, as well as the proper nuts, bolts, brackets and bushings. This is all a forum search away.

So I'm just a bit confused, regarding these parts
20464FG000 20466FG000 20470FG000 10108200 902370055 902350001 901000221 And Someone else posted on another thread, "https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2572222&page=2" FLANGE BOLT x4 #010108200 STABILIZER R D19 x1 #20451FG020 RUB BUSH STAB x2 #20464FG020 CLAMP STABILIZER BUS x2 #20466FG000 BOLT FLG 10X80 x2 #901000360 NUT FLG M10 x2 #902370055 Are these essentially the same? Is one more correct than the other? I'm trying to install a 19mm sway bar. I know the second link doesn't come with end links, would it be better to get aftermarket ones? |

I have a 2015 base model with a stick that I am also trying to fit up with a 19 or 20 mm sway kit. It has none and the under steer is not nice and I would like to clean it up but I am not confident in where to go and what parts to get. the mounting points are there but I am getting not cooperation from the dealer on this either.it has the rear mounting points, I just need to know where to get the parts

Typically cheaper than your local dealer, let them know you're from NASIOC. You can look up drawings to see exactly what you need, then order. |

Let me list it to make it easier.
You need endlinks and all the nuts, washers, spacers, and bolts that go with the endlinks. You need sway bar bushings. You need the sway bar bushing clamps. And the bolts to attach them. You need the sway bar itself. |

Do you need the chassis mount? I know most of the rears are bolt in. I can see Subaru leaving the mount off if you don't have a bar standard.

To know for sure, you can look under the car to see what's missing. As for part numbers, they change all the time so its best to view online for the most current info. I personally use quirkparts.com for part numbers since they are local to me. If you buy alot of parts from dealers they can usually match the competition's price. If you build a good rep with the parts department, they will give you a deeper discount. I saved alot of money buying accessories and replacement parts this way. All the Subaru we have owned/own came with a rear bar. The early ones (my 98, our 99) I upgraded the rear mount to an early WRX mount since they were reinforced unlike the earlier ones. |

It all went in in under 45 minutes. Drives like a cat now. It has no under steer like it use to. It feels almost like a neutral steer response on hard turns
whick will make it more manageable in wet and snowy conditions. |

A sway bar isn't going to change your handling in snow much lol. It really only helps when you have a lot of grip, like good tires in rain or tires in general on dry.

Does anyone else on this thread currently have a 16" stock or 19" (edit: lol 16mm or 19mm) sway bar lying around that they want to get rid of? I have a '13 base model and would love to get one on there.
On a slightly related topic, I've searched around and haven't found anything: My shocks/struts are done, and I've ordered Duralast (I know, sorry, but limited budget) quickstruts from autozone, spec'ed to match the base model. Now I know that the sport models have different (better?) suspension, and when I change my car submodel on AZ's website to "Sport Limited," I get different parts showing up for the quickstruts. Does anyone know if I can put those in instead? Does anything else need to change on the car to be able to do that? Does it actually make any difference? (Would I get the 0.2" lift that the sport models supposely have?) Thanks a lot. |
