Coo. I'll get the 19mm. Current set up is way to soft. I took a hard left turn and the rear started to swing to the right.

For Canadian context, the Touring Package, Sport Package, and Limited Package all come with the RSB (16mm). Just like the USDM version, the base trim model has no RSB.

We just upgraded the sways on our 2012 WRX so we put the 16mm bar onto our 2013 Impreza base, feels like a entirely new car.

^Not sure if 2011s come with a rsb but you could find a used 16mm with bushings for dirt cheap on here.

Yea probably. But youd have to look harder since there is a higher demand for those. Brand new 19mm with bushings youre looking at $100ish, plus the endlinks, mounting brackets and hardware if you have no factory rsb.

Hi, so I have a base model with no RSB so I'm getting the complete 19 mm set (I hope this is the correct set, please someone correct me if I'm wrong).

http://estore.subarupartswarehouse.c...iagram=7593803

But one question I have is, seeing how these endlinks are about $100, and upgraded endlinks like Kartboys are $125, is it worth it to get the better endlinks? Keeping in mind I won't be taking it to the track or anything. I definitely don't need them and I won't be upgrading the RSB to a thicker one, but then they're only $25 difference. Plus I read somewhere that stock endlinks can get noisy over time but Kartboy's stay quiet (any truth to this?)***65294; Thoughts anyone?

That's oversteer... Any thicker bar is going to increase that tendency. If anything, you should assess how you were driving when that happened, because at that point with the stock bar, the sway bar is not the answer. It's more than likely, due to the high tendency to understeer as stock, that you did something with your maneuvering, or braking that caused this to occur. It's also possible that you simply encountered highly unusual road conditions that influenced this. However, just be aware that thicker sway bars promote neutrality to oversteer, rather than the reverse.

I do and many other members here. But honestly youre going to need endlinks and stuff as well so youre better off buying the bundle all together.

Id be willing to sell for like $20 but shipping would prob be about $40 more.

I have a 19mm I'll likely part with when I put a 22 in. I'd part with that for about 60 or 70 shipped.

Too bad I don't live in the states .

I forgot to ask, I guess I'll also have to buy the nuts and bolts as well, it doesn't look like they're included (I don't think). Anyone know the proper sizes and which ones I have to get? Or do I have to goto the dealer to get them at the more expensive prices? Thanksk.

So from what I am getting reading through these posts, the geometry of the rear suspension on the 2012+ Impreza is the same as the 2008+ WRX/STi, correct? Therefore any aftermarket rear swaybar designed for the 2008+ WRX/STi should fit our 2012+ Imprezas? If so, that opens up a world of possibilities.

Does it open up a world of possiblities? Absolutely. There is way more aftermarket support for STis and WRXs than there will ever be for our cars unfortunately. It's a simple matter of where the market is. Additionally this new Impreza does not exist in Europe and other markets, so the chance of a company like Whiteline for example producing parts exclusively for our cars is slim at best. What we really need to hope for is that our cars can share parts from other models.

I just came from a Baja turbo which had about zero aftermarket support. Nearly anything that I was able to find was a cross-fit from another Subaru model. Lots of trial and error (and expense).

So what part number do I need to upgrade from my 16 mm to 19mm? My local dealer won't look it up and the links I see don't state the thickness of the bar.

Other than the parts listed there, what EXACTLY do I need? Everything from the ratchet to bolts.

Hey all, I just did the STI sway bar thing. I've got the base model, so I was starting with no rear sway bar. Here are my comments:

-Install was easy. I just did it in my driveway in the dark, with a headlamp. Drove each rear wheel onto a 2x4 to get a little extra room to work. Took around an hour, most of which was spent trying to jimmy everything into place. If I'd had a clue what I was doing and it was light out, it would have taken 15 minutes.

-Handling improvement is just as great as everyone says.

-I now get a "clunk" sound under aggressive cornering. Is this normal, or did I do something wrong and ruin everything? I think I'll double check on the torque specs tomorrow evening while it's still light out.

I don't think a "clunk" sound is normal.

The googles are telling me that it's a common issue, and I need to tighten stuff down better. I'll deal with it over the weekend.
