You sure about that?

Last year they were in A class, after being in B for years.

Playing is the best part! Glad to see more people coming out to play.

What car are you driving?

Oh ok. Cool! Not cool about poorly time wrist surgeries, but cool you'll be making it out.

I'll just be in my bastard child second slowest M3 ever made. Haha.

Sub Zero will have a Class Chair this year. This person is well versed in the past and current regulations and the 2013 changes and will confirm all classes.

We want to make sure that everyone is set from the drop of the first flag.

Nice! I remember helping with Tech and everyone asking what class they should be in. Having someone versed in the regs would be better suited to the task versus my best guess.

I've been reading very good things about these tires. They're supposed to be noticeably faster than the Star Specs.

Sources?

the new generation Z2 star specs were nearly .5 seconds faster per lap than the old Z1 star specs in dry and nearly a full second in the wet. They were also better in every category, wet, dry, turn in and longevity. There are about 4 or 5 different tires I'm look at this season.

Found one article written about Any Hollis' experience with them.
http://www.onehotlap.com/2013/01/bfg...-thickens.html

And an apparent quote from him on rennlist:
Quote:
Trust me, there was no favoritism. In addition to comparing the two tires, I was also wanting to learn the track, since One Lap is going there this year. And I went out first on the Rival, not knowing the track. The fact that I came up to speed that quickly says a lot about the confidence the tire produced. Once lap times settled (10 laps or so), we put on the Dunlops and I tried to replicate the performance, to no avail. Worse, it was unnerving how the Z2 responded on track. Very peaky, which meant you had to keep both ends of the car within that zone of slip angle which produced higher grip...or risk losing it. I never got the car out of sorts at all on the Rival and did so several times on the Dunlop.

That said, the things that made the Dunlop nervous on the track may make it a better autocrosser, assuming the car is setup for it and driven appropriately.

Also, from the pictures, the tread pattern is more inline with other past race tires, including the Dunlop Super Sport race tires I had and loved. They also seem to have nice meaty blocks.

I'll be rocking my same Star Specs as last season. Pretty sure I only have one season on them. Not sure if I want to go that fancy for my 328xi, as it's just a daily driver. But, we'll see.
