that one looked really good man. those numbers are starting to get up there as well . it looked like your shift to third was kinda jerky (based on the camera shake). that may be what caused the knock. did it look false or real in the log? like could you repeat the same knock on another run, or was it sporatic?

the wife and i may be headed up to the greenville area this fall...maybe we could head out to the dragstrip or something.

Looks like about 4.3 and 4.2 respectively (2nd run actually looks faster). Impressive.

I have a 6-puck disk so it is kind of jerky when shifting. IMO is false knock it only happens when shifting fast. I think is either my TMIC that is moving and hitting something or my DP..... I have to solve this issue before going to the track. Its amazing how much difference weather can make I gained about 30whp from 25*F. The car applied about 2 more degree of timing but the AFR were about .5-.4 richer than my previous run.

Yeah let me know, I want to go to the strip for sure. We have a couple of local 1/8th mile tracks but I want to go all the way to the 1/4th of mile "atlanta dragway" to set the stock location world record .

i definitely know how you feel with that 6-puck. i had the xtreme duty 6 puck, and as long as i actively kept "SHIFT SMOOTH" in my mind, it wasn't too bad. as soon as i let that thought go and started trying to go faster on the shifts, they got less smooth. funny thing is that they really weren't any faster. look at the shift from 3rd to 4th in my run in this thread. that one was really smooth and actually decently quick.

atlanta would be fun. that is about 4hrs away from me, so...about the same as it is for you. i will be in the new fozzy so...i'm hoping to maybe set the vf52 4EAT fxt record (12.7 as far as i know) once i get all the parts together and installed.

I have a 4 puck in mine (should be rougher than a comparable 6 puck), and it can definitely be really harsh if you rush things.

Your 4 puck should allow for faster shifting than the 6 puck.

My car is not fun to shift fast at all, its really harsh. There is no grinding but it feels like I am forcing and killing the shifter. I have kartboy shifter bushings and an Ixiz adjustable weighted short shifter. My stock honda civic shifts amazing, I can shift crazy fast and it feel good, it feel like the car actually likes it

The group N motor mounts made a little difference, I wonder if an aftermarket pitch mount and tranny mounts will help...

Nah, I'll wait to update it until you start FFS'ing.

Otherwise I'll just be updating it all the time.

Yes, and I want to hang with the 5-second crowd. On the other hand, I guess I should read my Accessport manual and learn to FFS too. That plus a cold day might just get me into the fours.

Actually, as long as the video is good, you can come pretty dang close using the pointer on the YouTube player itself.

I did it all the time before I got the FFS patch. What's the worst that could happen?

Why bother? Just shift faster..I let off the gas when I shift and my boost doesn't fall off a single PSI..

If the throttle closes, then it definitely does. Maybe your boost gauge just doesn't work.

No sir, on a slow shift maybe 1-2 PSI. It's kind of one big motion that just happens. I've been trying to figure out a way to rig a camera on my feet some how.

what xluben is saying is that if the throttle plate closes, the boost HAS to drop (even if its only slightly)...otherwise you will have a serious compressor surge/stall...just how physics and fluid dynamics work. you may not be seeing the drop on your gauge because of how fast you are shifting and during a shift you are doing too many things to accurately see the drop...but i promise you the manifold pressure IS dropping if you have closed the throttle plate.

Will do a 2-5th gear pull tonight using FFS to see if I can knock some time off my original 7 second-ish run.

Log a run and you will see boost drop, I am going to try FFS and see what happens

^This.

Do you have a BPV/BOV? I do, and whenever I lift, no matter how fast, the BPV causes my boost to drop all the way down, and then the turbo has to re-spool. Even if you shift lighting fast, if you lift, the throttle closes and you lose some boost. If you don't have a BPV/BOV, then maybe you don't, but you're probably killing the turbo. It's probably possible to shift fast enough (with a lift) that you don't lose much boost, but it's still going to lose some.
