Post Mitsu Lancer Evo

I just saw the Evo in "Who Am I".

What do I have to do to my Subaru to get it to dance like that? To do a 180 turn on a dime and them back into a parking space, do I need mad horsepower? A driver upgrade?

It would be hella neat to be able to swap ends, switch direction like that.

"But officer, the sign says no U-turns, it didn't say anything about I-turns!"

What i liked especially about Jackie's Evo IV is how the lady rally driver made it do the 'Curly woop woop woop' dance on its side, and when it gets back on all four wheels, the car is completely scratch free! =)

I'm not surpised at all. They would have used a Subaru for this stunt-- except the cheap Subaru paint would have all chipped off when they hit all those oranges.

Although it is just a movie, the Mitsubishi Evo IV on up came with active yaw control system which helps rotate the car in turns.

ok, its quite easy to do that scene, all you need is a camera, a car, and some video editing equipment. now, park ur car in the spot u want it to go, start filming, back out and turn as fast as u can in reverse. now, take that video recording, use the editin equipment to speed it up and reverse the entire thing. u'll then have a kewl lookin stunt. remember, jackie chan does his own stunts, but not all the stunts he does r REALLY the stunts we see. like all those clips where he jus barely gets hit by a truck or sumtin, they film those at a slower speed then speed it up later...

Actually, that scene in the parking lot where the Japanese rally racer woman does a 180 and backs into the spot wasn't edited. They had a stunt driver practice that maneuver over and over with orange cones marking the boundaries of where the other parked cars would be, and when he got to the point that he could do it perfectly, they filmed the scene with the lot populated with other cars. Crazy ass mofo's, huh?

I thought that they filmed the car coming out first, then they played the film in reverse.

The chase scene is one of the coolest, and I still want those self-healing side-mirrors.

Even if the car damage continuity was bad, that was a really cool sequence of shots of that car.

I bet Mitsu paid a nice amount to have their cars in that movie. If you notice, all other cars seemed to be debadged or put into the background. But all Mitsu cars were right there with the three diamonds flashing.

We need more movies with rally cars and drivers in them...

I remember last time we talked about that movie somebody said Jackie Chan has a contract with Mitsubishi to use their cars in his movies. I don't know if thats true or not, but thats what somebody said.

I think it's true Eby.. I remember him using a Turbo Starion in one of the Cannonball Run movies, and I've also seen another movie where he used an FTO GPX.

The other movie you mention with the FTO was thunderbolt right? He first raced with an evo6 against a skyline and then upgrade to a gto.

Yes in Thunderbolt first use FTO vs GTR then use EVO III to parctice then after crash use GTO vs GTR.

And in Operation CondorL Armor of God, the Mitsubushi car Jackie use is cute, can be separated into a smaller rider.

It's not health for your car but in my 1st RS I did it with a 22mm rear sway bar and the e-brake. It took me a couple of weeks to perfect but the look on people's faces when I did it in parking lots was priceless!
