Numbers are just numbers, they don't change anything. You can throw it on another dyno as it is and get a 400whp dyno chart, but it wont feel any different or go any faster. If you like the way it feels, be happy. If you don't like the way it feels, change it.

True, i do really love how it feels, just trying to determine how well my mods are working together. Would only love to increase throttle response as its a bit laggy down low.

If an HTA68 on E85 is too laggy for you, either there's something wrong or maybe a turbocharged 4 cylinder isn't your best route.

That's god awful. Your HTA68 is spooling worse than an HTA86. Get it retuned, that's seriously unacceptable.

agreed. Found the dyno sheet. 306 at 4500RPM then down to 270ish to redline

Not sure, cant remember. Corrected would mean its even lower here at 6k+ elevation. We tuned at 18 since we hit 300+ reliably there. I have stock internals and didnt want to push those too far.
You know after looking around, i bet i'm actually reaching target boost around 3500-4000 but only hitting peak HP at around 4600. Feeling a bit better about that. A new tune is already in the works either way though Last edited by TheRedStig; 03-20-2013 at 02:39 AM. |

If your only goal was to hit 300whp and your on stock internals and didn't want to push it I wouldn't worry about it. When I had my 68hta I was hitting 29 psi on E85. But that was at 1000ft. I didn't run it very long in CO (I'm in Fort Collins) because it was a terrible turbo to begin with, way to lopsided. The elevation just made it worse. I switched to a Dom 3xtr up here. Also, you might want to try a different tuner.

I Was actually thinking to myself if there was a thread about something like this, earlier. Very good. Planning for a little over 300whp this summer on a Mustang Dyno. 02 Wrx- Blouch 16gxt, dw 750ccs, walbro 255, hks bov, spt intake, 3port ebcs, invidia catless downpipe, invidia catless uppipe, probably missing some stuff, it's 4:30am and I can't sleep, give me a break lol. Located in NYC, tuner is in NJ. Don't wish to share the name of tuner. Trying to get everything by mid summer, so should be 80 degrees during tuning

Hi guys. Instead of stating I want to hit xxx whp, I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me what to expect, whp wise, from my current mod list? I am looking to set up an appointment for a protune this month when the next couple mods are delivered.
Car: 2012 WRX Location: Northern VA Shop: Mach V Fuel: 93 octane Power Mods installed: Cobb SF intake Invidia catless downpipe Invidia Q300 catback Cobb AP stage 2 93 oct map Power Mods on order: Process West TMIC Cobb XLE BPV Grimmspeed 3-port EBCS I understand every car is different and each tune could be different. However, I would like a general idea of what to expect. Please let me know if there is any other information that is needed. Thank you! |

I say you should be high 200s-whp. I assume 260whp, im just assuming so im guaranteed off lol. I have a 02 Wrx, catless turboback, catless uppipe, sti tmic, spt intake, hks bov, 16g xt, 750cc injectors, walbro 255 pump, grimmspeed boost controller (which I need to exchange for a 3 port to stop overboost). And probably some other stuff I'm missing also.. I just need the turbo and 3 port and a few other things and I'm ready for my tune. My tuner said ill be 300+whp on a mustang dyno, which is one of the hardest dynos to make power on

Do you think that injectors and a fuel pump would change those numbers much?

Well, personally I'd say go with bigger fuel injectors/fuel pump if u plan on getting a bigger turbo.. That's how I look at it. But with ur mods and if ud like the fuel setup, you'll put down some nice numbers on a conservative tune

I believe, ultimately I would like to have a converative tune of around 300awhp since this is my daily but I do see some track time. |

The drop in mpg when swapping to larger injectors is more in the tune and the driver and not the fuel system. For example, I get 17-18mpg city and 22-24mpg hwy in my stage 2 fxt on E85. My 2002 bugeye with a 2006 wrx motor (same motor basically) and 1270cc injectors making over 500whp on a mustang dyno was getting the EXACT same mpg on E85...and notice it had over DOUBLE the injector. If you and your tuner make mpg a priority, it is possible to get about the same mpg when just swapping to larger injectors. The reason for this is because even though the larger injectors are CAPABLE of flowing more fuel, unless you increase the targeted afr, you will still be injecting the same amount of fuel as you were on the smaller injectors because you are not drawing in any more air than you were previously. ...same amount of air = same amount of fuel... |
