They are short and having a longer wire would make the install easier, but I preferred them shorter. Less sack to hide and have it a cleaner install. It reaches! |

How are you liking the new Cobb Redline intake ? It looks gorgeous, and I have to agree with your YT video that the more "subdued and mature" sound is a nice change from the standard Cobb intake. I was really hoping they would release the same intake for the GR chassis. It does not look like it would require a ton of modification to fit a GR, but who knows. My only concern with that intake (and the alt cover for that matter) is all of the heat cycling the carbon fiber will be subjected to. I really hope that Cobb did a proper amount of R&D to use the best resin/clear they could to prevent any fading, as they claim in the product description.

Absolutely love it. The IAT’s are crazy and worth it alone. Yes Cobb actually used a much higher quality clear to resist against fade and yellowing. This is actually mentioned directly from Cobb in their release video. I know they are making one for the FA. Not sure about the GR, but I’m sure there would be a big market for it if they did. |

The IAT's are the only complaint I have with the Cobb SF + box. I modded the fake plastic mesh of my passenger side foglight surround to make it into a more functional air intake towards the cone side of the intake. Lowered temps by 5-10f depending on vehicle speed. The lower IAT is what has me the most interested in this intake (coming from an OCD PC building world where lower temps are everything lol). The bling CF is also a nice bonus though haha.

The lower IAT's is worth it alone. I am constantly surprised how cool my car stays just with this intake. I very rarely get over 100 degrees, even on 90+ humid days. At a stand still or red line, they will creep up into 120's or so, but driving, it goes right back down to 90's. It's very impressive. I am highly anticipating the cooler weather to see how much quicker the car feels. Yes, the carbon was just a huge plus for me. Really makes the engine bay look more more premium and quality than the stock plastic airbox. I can't recommend it enough. |

Wow. It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted in here. Main reason is I have slowly transitioned to video format through YouTube. I am able to talk and walk you through my reviews and installs in a bit more depth rather than a few pictures. If you are interested in following the journey, be sure to check the channel out!

Very nice. Your YT channel is one of the few that I check on a weekly basis hahaha. BTW - I like your trim pieces. Might do the same for mine since I do not like the glossy look from stock.

Hit Jason up. I couldn't recommend his work enough. I've had him do a few pieces on my old WRX and now the STI. I get perfect results every time. Much appreciated! It has been a long 4 years of ownership to get to this point, but I wouldn't have any other way. Very please with the current phase and how the car is sitting. |

Refreshed the brakes with some DBA T3 4000 Rotors and Hawk Street 5.0 Pads. Check out the video for the install!

Hi @Scoobyfreak86. Are you still happy with the Cobb Redline intake? From what I understand your tune with the SF intake should be good with the RL. Did you send updated logs to BrenTuning to verify?

Extremely. I wouldn't want any other intake out there. The IAT's stay consistently low, the sound, and lastly the look. It impresses me every time I drive it. yes, no re-tune was needed as my current tune's numbers were spot on and consistent just as they were with the normal SF intake I had prior. Confirmed by Bren. |

Great. Thanks for your feedback. Hmmm... Wonder if the APR carbon fiber cooling plate is compatable with the Cobb RL intake? That would be an awesome looking combo. |

It does not. No cooling plate currently works with this intake. As you can see, I am only running half of the perrin shroud. The intake inlet is much larger and bigger and all the other plates are made for the stock intake inlet. |
