There are so few examples of these that are truly investment grade. Of all the ones that have come across at BaT over the last 5 or 6 years, only 2 or 3 have been top tier cars. Most that appear clean at first blush have questionable pasts or stories that don't quite add up. Or the undercarriage shows east coast living

Patience is key. People might say they will never sell, but no one lives forever...

I think you're going to be waiting for a while. If someone held onto one this long, why would they suddenly sell it? The circumstances are just going to be fewer and far between as time goes on.

The comment above about 'no one lives forever', I think you have another 10 years minimum before you see the 'widow selling husbands garage queen'. This car is only 16 years old and people who bought them were probably 30-45.

I have spoken with the owner of the 160-mile 2004 a handful of times, a nice guy and real enthusiast. He won't sell the car.

I have several original 04-07 STi's with under 10k miles and no stories - they are in private collection but if someone were to make me the right offer I might let one go. My company info was referenced earlier in the thread - reach out if I can help.

BAT or similar is going to be your best bet these days, fewer and fewer worthwhile cars popping up over the last few years - the owners of these special cars in condition like these either are not selling, or are going to want top dollar (therefore sending to a venue that will maximize the sale potential).

One of those cars you got off bat correct? Either way you and I find cars the same way. I have cars that i didnít buy off bat that are very low mileage - some much rarer than a sti Ö..& Iím prepared to pay a seller more than any dealer will offer or BAT for that matter, but I prefer to buy direct from the owner in most cases. I know of your company Thanks for reaching out anyways.
Iím friends with the owner of that car you mentioned above. He wonít ever sell - shame the car is overseas and itís US spec, I virtually have no spending cap, Iíll pay top dollar for a top condition car not worried about setting water marks

I'm pulling for you bud. Just stay patient, when the right car comes along you'll know it.

hey rallly 4,

Check it out; 5K mile, stock, 1 owner car with gold and silver BBS wheels (and original tires) included. Very pristine-Only downside is it is a Canadian car.

I just hit 411k on my 2004 STi. I cannot fathom having put one up on blocks! Think of the hours of smiles!
