Young buyers in general are just less interested in performance/sporty/fun cars these days.

Iím thankful I have zero friends who arenít into cars.

A 21 - 30 year old dude who can afford to buy a new car shouldnít be buying a forester / outback type car unless they have kids IMO.

But yes, I couldn't care less what an anemic, dull autotragic S4 or Golf R do in a 1/4 mile. Life is too short to drive a boring automatic lease mobile, no matter how fast they are in the straight line. Thankfully we have some affordable, much more fun and engaging performance sedans on the market like the WRX or Elantra N. Cheers!

Agreed, a ton of envious posters hating on a car they can't own but wish they could so they have to justify their purchases here.

Clearly... wagons don't sell. I think a company known for selling wagons, filled with people that WANT lower wagons, would buy the Levorg if/when it comes.

Had another bonkers thought... the new announcement for the new STi... is full up STi Levorg manual with EZ36T.

*that are classified as SUVs because of the ground clearance technicality.

Call it what you want. Wagon. Lifted wagon. SUV. CUV. Whatever. Doesn't matter. Customers want the lift. Proved it many times over the years. Saw it SOOOO many times on the lot. Looked at a wagon. Looked at an Outback and went with the Outback.

Now, I on the versus of that, I agree with you. The Levorg isn't just a "wagon". It's also a danged WRX. THAT is why it would sell.

Like many others I wanted a WRX or Forester XT or Lagacy GT when I was young. It's what attracted me to the brand and its part of the reason I own an Impreza now. I've never owned a WRX, but if it didn't exist, I probably wouldn't own a Subaru now.

Subaru is lucky it has Toyota, because if it wasn't for the BRZ now, young buyers probably wouldn't be thinking twice about the brand. Every manufacturer sells wanna-be off roaders now. Subaru would be getting lost in the weeds if not for its performance heritage.

It might not have an aging problem this second, but with companies like Hyundai pumping up their N brand and Subaru neglecting STI it will only be a matter of time.

Completely disconnected from what Subaru is. How many "Love" commercials have you seen about the toys? Oh. Tell me the last BRZ commercial you saw. No worries. I'll wait. Pretty sure they could get rid of them and not skip a beat. Shoot, they'd just be doing better getting to use all that production capacity to get us Foresters.

Just had a new, young firefighter brother get an Outback yesterday.

Alright. Come one dude. If you are gonna continue with this rhetoric, at least spill the beans of when you are getting one?!?!

I'm planning on getting my Outback as a self birthday present in March next year. Then my WRX SPT as a self Christmas present(hey SoDealer. Save this to hold me to it)

Iíd argue 90 percent of people could buy one.

A base WRX is under the national new car average price. By thousands

I actually canít believe you just wrote that.

He's written that before. It's not the most childish post I've read here in recent times, but it's up there.

People obviously don't mind blowing their money. They're just unwilling to blow it on the WRX.

I never said they couldn't afford one...And why waste time whining about a car that you were never going to get in the first place ? I really don't get it.

Thankfully I have a pristine 2005 STI. Arguably the best Subaru (04-07) they have and will ever sell here. Iím not worried about a new Wrx

I had a 2016 sti as well. Itís pretty eye opening when in 2015 my new sti was a worse car than my 2005. Company is heading in the wrong direction.

Btw calling a golf R dull is ridiculous. The MK8 is a giant killer, the 04 R is one of the best drivers cars ever made. i wouldnít dump on VW when Subaru does not care about its customers

Can you not conceive of a situation where a person wanted to get the new WRX, but upon its reveal were so disappointed with it that they changed their mind?

Base 6 M/T trim have started to show up at local dealerships around me; these seems to sell/move much faster.
The pill is easier to swallow with MSRP slightly below $32K.

Fanbois gonna derp dude.

I can certainly afford it. Iím going to spend 10k more than this WRX costs. I want a real AWD system with diffs. And I want a hatch. Subaru provides neither so Iím not interested in their product. The lame redline kills it. And if it wasnít that it would be the iPad that would kill it. And if it wasnít that it would be the body cladding and prolapsed bumper. And even if all that was fixed, itís a sedan.

Not interested in their product but still crying about it. Sounds about right . Nobody cares dude, life goes on and the WRX continues to be a huge success for the brand.

Another video from the Aussie lads. They chuck the WRX and GR Yaris on the dyno and compare the results:

Thanks for sharing! That is a great video. It is great to see how understressed the FA24 is.
