Thumbs down

AEM says they make them, but they don't. They won't give you price neither deliver compromise. SOO.. they do not have them.
UR has been playing the game of ' availbility.....soon' and that is it.
Will check on HKS.....

its yet to prove a worthwhile mod on Ej20's for as long as I can remember....stock WRX cams, and STi cams as well, have a bit of overlap in them, so cam gears are really not a necessary mod.

Once you go with aftermarket cams 9ie custom grinds), they might yiled more benefits, as you wold have a more custom derived setup (in the samwe vein, cams tend to not be a very popular mod for the car either, maybe due to cost?)

Z1..perf...

I work daily with this engines. Since this are quad cams set up I have found ALWAYS a big difference in timining between both intakes or both exahust cams. You can easyly see 116 deg on one of the intakes and 109 deg on the other ( max lift method for check out) and same happens with the exhaust. I have corrected that to certain specs that work great BUT , removing the dowel pin and tighten harder than specs the bolt . Nothing I would trust for continous hard work. So, it is not only the capability to choose your degreeing preference but to obtain proper specs.
Not to mention that rertarding a little the intake IT WILL give you
some extra nice mid to top HP.

um don't hold your breth ...

perhaps thet fact that the ej20 is 10 years old.. and no one in that time has made adjustable gears.. would lead a person to think that they are just not nessiary

You won't need adjustable cams on a boxer engine. The idea is not quite to tune the cams. Its to bring them back into spec when you have decked the head or the block. Because doing that on a Subaru boxer engine may cause fitment issues with the intake and exhaust manifold, its not normally done. Hence there not being a need, and therefore not a product.

Here you go, and if you think I'm wrong go ask Subaru
Cam tuning is a critical part of any performance tuning. Through cam tuning you can adjust your hp and tq peaks and you can tune for larger turbos, increase exhaust energy. For stock computers you can advance intake cams so that where you once ran lean you will then run richer. If you go to Barnes and Nobles, and performance manual will include cam tuning, everybody in the world does it including the STI VVT Engine. That's What VVT is!!! If it isn't neccasary in boxers why would Subaru put it in their top end engine and in their WRC car. One of few race cars capable of VVT at 40+ psi boost!

The reason that adjustable cam gears aren't made for the WRX!!!!
Drumroll please!!!!
The Wrx has one cam gear per bank and one parasite cam. One cam is driven by gear off of the other. So if your one gear was adjusted, it would adjust both whether or not you wanted it to. Now in order to make this work, you need three new pieces. An adjustable initial cam, and both gears(primary, and parasite) adjustable. Which would make, this product very expensive. And dificult to install and tune for all but well trained mechanics.

More to follow, I may possibly have an engine builder who is willing to R&D and produce just this, with a good enough buy in. But give me time as this is just a possibility right now.

William......

What do you mean ? there is NO parasite cam in a WRX. This is a quad cam engine and all four cams are driven independely by the belt. With a proper camsprocket on each cam you can easly adjust them to whichever speccs you choose and YES , there is much to gain by doing this. I have done it by installing offset bushings ( i would really like to do it with adjstable sprockets) and you can inmediatly feel the gains in mid to high RPM by retarding a little the intake cams.
