You'd be surprised how many people have auto's. Just do a search for automatic and you'll find alot of people.

ok just got back there was a 20-30 mph wind heading right towards the cars which sucked but some guy told me if it wasnt windy i would have done about 0.2 better or something like that?
but the results where....

Reaction: .574
best I1: 2.300
Best I2: 6.743
Best I3: 10.449 at 65.8mph
Best I4: 13.534

E.T. : 16.499
at 77mph

my second fastest time was 16.534 at 81.750mph

keep in mind this is with a 20 to 30 mph wind blowing rihgt at me im sure i waould have been atleast a .5 seconds faster... but that was my first time at the strip...think ill stick to autox until i get the turbo

thanks
Greg

Thumbs down

didnt relize how slow the rs was after 2nd gear

i raced a rustang v6 not gt just the standard v6, u was beating him all the way to 3rd gear but once i hit third gear he started pulling in front of me and would beat me bye .1 of a second in the quarter mile. he kept saying to his friend "if i get beat bye a subaru im gona park this motha f'r and go home. i told him to take it to an auto x and see what happens i would wipe his ass up on the curves, hands down no q's asked.

thanks

Greg- How were you launching? Just mashing down the gas or brake standing/torque braking? Did you shift manually or leave it in D? Thanks.

I don't recommend doing this over and over again since I am not sure of it's future affects but here it goes.

Instead of leaving your shifter in drive or in 3rd gear, do this:

Put it in '1' and shift to '2' gear @ 5300rpm. Then shift from '2' gear to '3' gear @ 5400rpm. Shift from '3' gear to 'D' {Drive) at 5400rpm. Your 1/4 mile time should drop between 3/10ths to 7/10ths of a second off your previous run.

Do not do this until you've tried your previous method of going down the strip (On the same day/night) at least once. Then compare and let us know how it goes. And don't take your foot off the accelerator while shifting.
