Default Good drag strips in the area?

Hey, I got my cobb stage 2.5 installed in my GC8 swap and want to go see what it runs now. Wondering what tracks around here are generally well maintained and have a good location(weather/altitude). Basically wondering where I should go to get the best times at.

I know most people aren't much into drag racing on here, I'm not really either I guess. Just want to see what it runs now.

I'm in Quantico and don't mind going north or south of here for the track. Thanks.

I've run my last car several times at this track. Not a bad facility, but kinda far for you. VMP

Yea, um, the key is I want to do a timed run.

How's Capital? I've heard they're usually busy, but haven't heard how the conditions are.

Capital is an alright track to run at. Busy it is, and they shut it down at 11pm no matter what due to local residents yelling about the noise to the local govt. I have heard you get more runs in at 75-80 Dragway. Downside to this is that the track is falling apart. Once you hit the traps you gotta slam on the brakes b/c there isn't much stopping area.

By far the best track in the region that I have been to is MIR down in Budds Creek. You got 3/4 mile to slow down after you hit the traps, and its the best maintained track in the area. And if your doing an afternoon Test and Tune, instead of fighting DC Rush Hour Traffic to get to Capital or 75-80, you can just go south since your in Quantico and just cross into MD on 301 on the Nice Bridge. The track is maybe 15 mins from that bridge.

Thanks. Looks like they've got some races/grudge match thing Friday for street legal cars. May stop by to see if I can get some runs in.

Well if you want a track close to you,.. Tues and Thurs http://www.sumerduckdragway.com has test and tune. We got in so many runs last time we got bored and left. I think we got like 6 in within an hour. Its only 1/8 but still fun.

Thanks. All I want to get is a good 1/4 mile run though to see what kind of improvement I've got over my last setup.

^ What he said!

Capital is right down the street from me. I can tell you it's a very busy track without even going down there. It's so loud and busy, you can hear the cars from miles away.

Budds Creek (aka MIR) is awesome! This weekend (June 26-27) NOPI will be there. I forget how much it is to run, but you can go to the website here and get more information.

Yea friday they have some street car series where it's $15 to run. I figure the NOPI classes would be more expensive and I'd rather not go though that just to get what amounts to a few test and tune runs in.
