As for the "Call the cops" idea. That may work in other states but up here in PA, they take twenty minutes to show up for anything if they show up at all, then all they do is accuse the person who called.

I eventually, (completely by chance), found the S2000 several months later, sitting in a driveway not too far from where this all went down, still in bad need of repair. I was driving my truck that day. The tattooed guy who had leaned out the window to flip me off was sitting outside.

So I went back one night and stole all four of his wheels.

Admitting to a crime on the internet. Hope Mr. S2000 doesn't come across this thread.

The best thing to do is to pretend like you're in your own world, rocking out to tunes, completely ignore them.

I had a couple of Millenials in a stanced out 350Z trying to play with me this morning. I get a lot of this just because doing my thing on my own I tend to drive just slightly faster than the flow of traffic.

He sped up when I caught and passed him, I slowly lifted off the throttle until I slowed maybe about 5 over the limit and let him go. He slowed again, got along side me while I was doing my "rocking out" act, and he stepped on it again. Again I let him go. He tried it one more time, and a CHP officer on a motorcycle that I noticed getting on the freeway seconds before shot past me and lit him up. What a fool, he was probably doing over 100 by the time he noticed the cop and started pulling over.

Funny all the things you don't take into consideration when you're too busy being an *******. Tell me, what separates you from them now? Should've just raced them...

How do I avoid it... I slow down. I look at them with a "niggaplez" look on my face. Then I drop the clutch down and throw a rev at them.

Generally speaking... they hear it and they don't mess with me. My car is loud as all hell.

I was in my old civic(I was like 21, not completed riced out but it had 17in enkeis, coilovers, intake, exhaust, front and rear lip so it got revved at a bit) sitting at a light and a convertible 350z pulled up next to me. Two girls that were highly intoxicated(one being the driver) asked me if i wanted to race. I just looked at them weird and said no. They took off swerving and then clipped a bus stop and spun it around up onto the sidewalk under a tree about a half mile down the road. I pulled up behind them and turned on my hazards. I jumped out and ran over. The driver was out and the other girl was sitting there crying hysterically with probably a broken nose. Luckily they both had their seatbelts on. Rescue showed up pretty quick. Cops took my info but I never heard anything of it.

I was really glad I didn't decide to mess with them because they probably would've wrecked me. I felt really bad for the car, that thing was ruined.

This is why girls shouldn't be able to drive/can't have nice things

I remove all my emblems that say fast. wrx, sti, xt. I drive a wagon or a forester or a sedan with no wing. I also run a quite exhaust. Nobody even looks at my car. I play it down. Don't drive a look at me car.

I don't even look at them, completely ignore them and they eventually go away.

Got my 1st WRX New Years Day of '06. A couple months later I was speeding a bit, 70 in a 50, when a Camaro comes flying up next to me. I'm tempted to race but realize the windows are fully blacked out, begin to see it looks a lot like an unmarked cop car.
So, I slow down and set my cruise. A few seconds later a car goes flying by us and the Camaro takes off, lights him up, and pulls him over. So close!!

Really? I'm surprised at some of the answers here. I would NEVER slow down, come to a stop, turn off my headlights. Chances are you're driving to get somewhere so why stop because someone else is being a jackass? Admittedly, being young, with a black WRX and STI wing, I get my fair share of idiots, but usually they catch me at a stop light, proceed to rev, and take off and that's about all I get. I did have one case similar to yours though where it seemed the guy wouldn't cut the ****. I just waved and went on my way. Lots of them are just looking for attention of some sort and a wave (as silly as it sounds) usually helps.

So street racing is bad, but felonious larceny is ok?

You've got some ****ed up sense of morals, don't you? Glad I got out of Subarus before the Honda crowd transitioned over.

I hope you are joking that you stole his wheels. If not, hope law enforcement sees this thread asap. One thing to tear into someone for being an idiot. It's a whole different thing to become even more of an idiot than the first idiot.

Surprisingly I've not really had anyone try to race me in the 10 months I've owned the car. I'm definitely okay with that.

I decided I wanted to take the STi for a cruise down the country roads near my house. Wasn't going fast or anything, just enjoying the burble of the exhaust when I drove when all of a sudden I see a set of headlights coming at my real fast in my rearview mirror. Some dickhead in a 350Z must have thought he was all badass and wanted to race. So I downshifted, and SLOWED the **** down so he knew I meant business. I continued to go the speed limit and he would let off the gas then slam on it almost rear ending me. I was getting pissed, so I figured I'll brake check him next time he pulls this ****. Luckily he stopped in time. He seemed to learned his lesson then, but still continued to tailgate me. A couple miles later, I turned and he went straight. As he passed me, he gave me a wave and a thumbs up. I wanted to shoot that mother****er, I swear.

This just proves my point. A lot of the people who we believe are acting like jackasses are just doing it until you acknowledge them although, I don't think brake checking anyone is very smart, but alas, I've done it myself so can't be a hypocrite.

I just let them do their thing and try to ignore them the best I can. That is unless they are driving recklessly then I will try to make a few turns to ditch them.

One time I was driving home from a buddies house in my old 2003 Cobra when a bike pulled up next to me on the highway. He kept trying to get me to race by taking off over and over, and even tried hand signals to me. After a minute or two, he got the hint. He ended up doing a pull all by himself. He must have gotten well into the 130's by how fast he was pulling away. My wife and I just kinda shrugged it off, but then had to laugh 2 to 3 minutes down the highway when a CHP had him pulled over.
