I know I could get a better and cheaper one but a few things swayed my decision. The biggest reason being that an aftermarket head unit is not compatible with the stock blue tooth speaker or the USB port and auxiliary port in the center console. I know I could run new wires but it would be a bigger pain than it's worth. You would also have to get an adapter for the steering wheel controls. I prefer the dash to be as stock as possible. Another reason was that I was able to get a pretty low financing rate so I don't have to front the money. Also, from what I've heard the stock navigation unit is actually a pretty good unit.

So I had originally ordered a premium hatch in SWP with an eta of about 4-5 months...but after a week, I bit the bullet and decided to buy a base sedan in SWP that was already on the lot. I figured I don't need the extra amenities that come with the premium.

Came with the auto-dimming mirror with homelink, sti sts, and wheel locks (which i don't really care for).

Brought her home on 10/20...came with 26 miles on the odo.

Unfortunately.....someone already rear ended me today, just 4 days after taking her home However the damage was very minor and only cosmetic, so even though I was pissed, I'm not really freaking out or anything. Big ups to those of you patiently waiting

No first-hand experience but I plan on purchasing these for half the cost. They look awesome, I'm just hoping their cheesy decal is optional/removable.

Alright guys, some new, yet depressing information. Just spoke to the VP of Sales for SNE and he informed me that my car has an ETA of mid December (I ordered on 8/8). He said it has not been produced, and does not have a VIN, so apparently my dealer was misinformed when they told me this.

I then got a call from my dealer about an hour after saying that a Subaru district rep came in to follow up and apparently they and quite possibly most of SNE have been "out of the loop" so to speak on the whole ordering process. They do indeed get VON's and had been misinformed on the whole process itself. So for those of us in SNE, you could be in the same boat and my phone call could mean that all SNE dealers will be getting further training on the whole process.

At least I got some better information (I hope), even though it is not what I was hoping to hear.

Last night I found my exact car at another dealership. I called the dealer that I placed my order with and he said they don't often do deals because dealers do not like to trade out their alloted STIs and will ask for a premium.

My idea, I take my invoice to the dealer with the STI and say if you can beat this price by $500 dollars I will buy the car now (with trade-in) and cash difference.

The original dealer will keep the $500 dollar deposit and I will get the new car for $500 dollars cheaper at the new dealers. For me it is a push.

Any thoughts?
So I gave the local dealer a call to see what he could do and he will call me back.

I find it AMAZING that there are so many WRX/STIs sitting on other dealers lots, but they will NOT trade each other. I guess they assume that they can sell the car for more than the trade. Anyway - I will know more tomorrow.

You can for sure get your deposit back. That's standard for Subaru. It is definitely refundable so if you want to take your business elsewhere you won't be out $500 or have to get the other dealer to beat your current price by$500. Just tell them you need it back.

SNE is Subaru of New England. So if you are located in New England, you fall under them. NY/NJ as pnc said, is SDC. What state are you in?

I also ordered 10/5, southeast (georgia) region (SOA).

I have projected ETA or 1/5/13 (exactly 12 weeks) but nothing firm and no VIN.
Please keep me informed and i'll do the same since we ordered same day.

Finally got a VIN. It's supposed to be here in November he said, but didn't give an exact date. How long have you all been waiting once you recieved a VIN. (In SC so none SoNE cause I know those guys have to wait forever).

Is it possible to find a WRX hatch on the lot? I am moving from VA to CT and will be trading my Mustang in for a new WRX, Went to 2 dealers in VA and called 2 in CT - All of them saying I need to order one. They did all have sedans but I had an 02 sedan and I'm ready for a hatch damnit.

I don't want to have to order one and wait around for 4 months it sounds like torture.

Sure, there is a WRX 2013 hatch sitting at my local Subaru dealer and I saw two more at another. They are all in Florida, however.

There is also a 2013 STI sedan that has been sitting at my local dealer for 2 weeks.

The problem is dealers do NOT want to trade, unless it is for a SIMILAR model. That makes it difficult. Last weekend a gal drove 4 hours to the dealer near me to BUY it because they would NOT trade it to the dealer near her. The reason was that the other dealer didn't have a single WRX/STI to trade for. Pretty much around here you can't trade unless you have similar inventory, or so I have been told and have tried.

I am trying right now to have my dealer trade the STI sedan for a STI hatch at another dealer tomorrow, but he said it's 50/50 if they will. I don't want to drive 3-4 hours to go buy it, but I might.

The dark grey one? That is the color I want and it's identical to the one I 'built' on the Subaru website - any idea on how I would go about trying to claim it? I am not moving back until mid November so I wonder if it's even possible?

Can anyone help me out...? I'm in NY so I should be under SDC, right? But a couple weeks ago I called SoA (I didn't know NY was SDC until like 10 minutes ago) and they gave me a VON and said it would be 10-12 weeks from date of order... was this some kind of misunderstanding? Did they give me someone else's VON?

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on this thread for quite a while and am happy to announce my 2013 WRX is scheduled to arrive at my dealer tomorrow! Here are my details below:

Order Date: 8/18
CBS WRX Base
Fog Light Kit
Deck Lid Spoiler
Auto dimming mirror
all weather floor mats

Coming from a 1997 Honda Civic, I'm extremely excited to finally get my hands on a car that has a faster 0-60 than ten minutes. Of course, a big thanks to this community for all of the incredibly accessible information on these cars. I've learned a ton by just browsing around the forum and of course reading all the stickies. I'm happy to be here!

VON's are generated once you order is in SoA's system so its perfectly normal. Also the 10-12 week a number they give everyone. Dont take it seriously.
