I'm really debating between the 2013 WRX STI or 2013 Lancer Evo GSR :'(. Both are very similar in many ways and also different! I don't know.

Ouch four months from after the full month of order for a WRX. Soooo with that thinking ordered on 9/28 won't take delivery until Feb or March. Oh well just have to hope for the best.

Can someone enlighten me. Are VINs given when the car rolls out of the factory in Japan or are they given when in route on the ship and SOA assigns that car to a placed order. Ordered a SWP base sedan on 8/29 with no VIN and ETA of december. Could my car be on the ship scheduled to port mid november and they just haven't assigned a VIN yet. I'm trying to be patient, but it is very hard.

Put a deposit down an incoming WRX. Its the Base Hatch (DXN) in WRB with Armrest ext, cargo tray, bumper cover, wheel locks, floor mats, shock sensor, Auto dim mirror. Talked them down from 27.3 to 25.8. Pick up on 11/16!!! I've wanted a wrx since 2004.
Whats the consensus on the Side Moldings- Worth it? Actually provide protection? I live in an apt. |

Hmm, reading all this makes me wonder. The WRX Limited I got was sitting at the dealer for at least 2 weeks. Must of been lucky?

So does anyone know for sure that you only get a VIN once your car arrives at port? I've heard once it's at port, once it's on the boat, and once it's done at the factory. Just curious.

Does anyone know at what point a car shows up on the website with an "In transit" tag? I previously thought that was once it was in the states. But now I'm thinking that's once it leaves the factory?

If it's a Sold Order, it will not show up on the dealers website... even when In Transit. Likewise if someone wants to put a deposit down to claim an incoming "In Transit" dealer allocation, what should happen is that listing gets pulled off their site. Yeah I know the car has the VIN stamped into the car. I'm just trying to figure out when SOA releases it to the dealer. I emailed SOA, so I'll post up what they tell me.

Yeah I've never heard that (6-8 days). I instantly had a VON the second the order was submitted.

My salesperson placed the order with me on the phone. Had my VON instantly.
What kind of took me off guard was that she said she could order an orange STi, even she was confused - anyone else hear of this? |

Just wanted to update anyone that might be interested. Don't waste your money on either the kicker sub or any upgraded head unit from Subaru. I bought the nav and the kicker sub. My old wrx had the factory head unit, factory speakers and factory passenger seat sub and I LOVED HOW IT SOUNDED. The new car is terrible. I am so disappointed at how the system sounds I'm speechless.
