Question Bridgstone SO-3 or BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2?

I was wondering what everyones opinion on these 2 tires is. I auto X in the Summer, but I dont care about driving in the winter, thats what the other impreza is for I drove on the RE070's for 24K miles and they are pretty much smooth now. I need a new tire, whats the recomendation?

Do NOT get the G-force. Very soft sidewall....like when I drove my car, all I could think is "damn, this is a soft sidewall." Squirmed when on the gas, on the brakes, and in the turns.

No experience with the S03.

I think s0-3 vs BFG KD would be a better comparo...in which case i would be stuck between a rock and a hard spot if they were priced to same.

Thanks eveyone. I'll go with the S-03's then I guess. I can get a good deal on them right now. Thanks!

We will see how this season goes...

ack wrong thread

S03s are good. but a little heavy. I went with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's and I love 'em.

Little hijack here, anyone using the BFG Traction T/A H or V rated? I'm looking into these BFG's thought I'd ask here.

All I know is that I'm going with the Pilot Sport PS2's when I get my new wheels.

PS- Anyone interested in a set of GC010E's?

do NOT get KDW's extremely bad with heat, they blister and chunk very easily, also soft sidewall like said above...

I'm a little late, but I've been running S-03s and just switched to the BFG KDWS. Obviously, they are 2 totally different tires. First, the S-03s are tops for dry/wet handling and cornering. Can't say enough about them. But, they are loud and grating on your internal organs. (The S-03s rock, you can throw them into any corner and they don't let go.) Treadlife, not so good.

Anyway, an unrepairable nail hole ended their life.

I decided to go with an all-season tire, since I'll be driving in some snow. First impressions of the KDWS. Sidewalls are softer, duh, but at 40psi they are OK. They are quiet and absorb the road well. (I must be getting old.) As for snow, I don't know yet, but they better be good, because that's why I got them.

Really can't compare these 2 tires. The S-03s are summer tires for max handling. The KDWS are a good all-around tire.

Probably similar price point...I went with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. I've been very impressed so far.

Out of the 2 I would much prefer the S03, I had them on my S2000 and they were excellent, but were very pale compared to the OEM S02.

The S02 is a far superior tire in terms of grip, but you'll pay the price with regards to longevity.

What kind of deal did you get on the S-03s? I'm thinking about getting these to (225/40/18). Could you point me to the website/contact info to where you bought these?

^^^ tirerack

rolling on s03's and they have very good grip but nothing compared to the re070's. with a slightly softer sidewall you get more comfort and less roid noise but at the expense of performance. the loss is minimal...

if you want the performance of the re070 without the harness get the s02. but if you want them to last a little longer get the s03
