Yeah man I do it every month the lowest is always Geico followed by $220 w/ everyone else. I live in South Florida I think that heavily contributes to the high price.

I know you can turn off the display but I like having it on. The dashboard already is clean and matte in that spot but I'm thinking of adding matte black vinyl.

just lower the brightness of the display

At least you aren't in Michigan, they are the worst by far.

I pay around $1000 less than you per year for both of my cars

There is no brightness setting. The MFD has contrast, which doesn't help. The head unit has dimming and contrast but it doesn't affect the MFD

I think he is referring to using the dash lights dimmer. It's a thumb wheel below and left of the steering wheel, in the group with vehicle dynamic control.

Ah thanks for clarifying, I wasn't thinking about that. I will try that tonight. I didn't think of that dimmer wheel controlling the MFD

YW!
Lost in translation occurs much more often in our tech world of text only communication.
Reading different tone / attitude, than what was intended, is a much bigger issue, especially on internet forums. When in doubt, I TRY to read it both ways, BEFORE responding, but that's not always the case.

No, we must not. I am totally against that BS.
Apologies, if that's what was interpreted from my comments.
In the PNW, college children are wanting to be so 'safe' that they are proposing segregating dorms by race. Talk about your backwards thinking. I fear we are truly doomed, no matter what.

Guys you really need to try and not compare insurance rates with each other. There are seriously so many factors that go in to your rates.

With a job like panty raiding, you should?
Wouldn't you want more variety, when raiding and pillaging dorms, than less?

True, location can be a huge factor. I don't think I ever paid as much as some of you do though, even when I was young with speeding tickets.

Agreed. And Nasioc has so many "experts" it's intimidating for a new owner to ask a simple question that he is unable to figure out on his own, or via searching Nasioc, or the Internet

I've read this entire thread within a couple days and lots of people are snubbing posters as being too sensitive over their gripes. But seriously... it's a thread to post the small gripes that's the entire point of posting your small issues!

I hate when someone else drives my car. It takes me forever to get my seat back into the right position.

This is the first car I have owned where I do not have the driver seat at the back most position. I have to actually try and find the right seat position to recline ratio.

Its worse with the power seats... Near infinite positions. When I expect someone to get in my seat (like when I got tint done, clear bra, winter tires installed etc.) I've had to mark the seat with painters tape just to reference where I had it.

Power seats with no memory buttons is the most useless thing ever. I want manual seats, but had no choice with the way the trims are up here.

why not find somebody with a Base model wanting to trade? I've never seen the airbag connector included with another connector.

edit: nevermind. just realized that base model person wouldn't be able to utilize power functions lol. excuse my stupidity.

I have a new 2017 STi. Had a WRX before. When I am driving harder than usual and push the clutch in and back off the throttle. I think it's the turbo recirculating valve maybe? Is that normal? What the hell is it doing?

You jinxed me. Just logged in and saw my renewal rate. It's going up $250/yr

Haven't even made any claims or been pulled over.

The dimmer wheel does control the MFD! I haven't driven the car at night and I'm out of town so I need to play with it more. I wish there was a separate setting for day/night dimming but I'll figure something out

I hate the way the yellowish DRL look, so I always leave my headlights (limited stock led) and Morimoto fog lights (they match) on and just operate the dimmer wheel for time of day.

Where there is space next to the dimmer wheel to add another one. Maybe use the 2nd one and wire it up to control the brightness for mfd and radio seperately, from the interior and guage lights

I was really disappointed with the base system in my 2017 WRX at first and thought I made a mistake by not getting the HK upgrade. But, after about 60 +/- hours of use the speakers have broken-in an sound quality improved dramatically.

Initially the mids were very trashy & raspy sounding. After break-in they have smoothed out and are much much improved. The system still won't win any awards but it is acceptable enough for me to not want to change anything out. I don't have any issue with lack of volume and I hate the idea of ripping my interior apart to change things. I always end up with rattles.

I'm tall, so maybe this is height related. But does anyone else think the rear view mirror is too low?

It creates a blind spot for people at stop signs on the right side, even with the seat all the way at the bottom. Never noticed this at my test drive and I'm hoping I can relocate the mirror higher up
