2009 Impreza sport

Default Idle control ej25 n/a

So eight months ago my oil pump when in my 09 Impreza so it threw a rod. So finally last week I was able to finish the rebuild. It actually has a 2001 forester short block in it now but everything else is from the 09. So finally I got the car on the road but the idle is way to high I'm getting the p0507 code and it idles around 1500rpm in park. I'm not sure if the 09s have a IACV or if it's just all electronic. Is there a way to reset the idle I would enjoy the help. Thanks for your time guys!

'01 2.5RS Imprezza


So I'm having some what the same issue in my '01 RS with a 04 ej25 n/a single cam. I had the short block replaced after I spun a bearing after I installed a 12lbs fly wheel and clutch kit from ACT. Now all my sensors are bad and I also coded the P0502 so I've been steadily changing out all of my sensors including the IACV. The thing I've seen various prices on that damn sensor. From $300 to $30. I said well the hell with the advance auto parts price and I bought it from some 3RE party vendor. It stop coding the P0502 and coded for my knock sensor. Which I replaced and now it's coding again the P0502 I've checked my throttle cable and tighten it up and still having the same issue. I'm stumped and need help!!!

P0507 is basically a high idle. The '09 is a DBW IIRC, thus no IAC. Could be dirt or carbon in the throttle plate, bad engine harness connection, etc.

P0502 is a speed sensor issue. Could be a tone wheel for the ABS, could be the sensor on the trans, could be a sensor connection issue.
How are all your sensors bad? Sounds more like dirty or loose engine harness connections. A bunch of sensors don't just "fail" all at once.

Common to both posts (not the codes though.....) is the engine was out. Thus all the engine harness connections were pulled apart.

For both, I would start there. Stop wasting time and money, diagnose and troubleshoot.
