Oops. Thought I cropped out the boobies. Close-Enough.jpg

It's a John Baizley piece. Some of his stuff is sort of a mix of metal/stoner rock and art deco and I've been digging it lately.

So I have the opertunity to get a free iPhone 5. I think the black is sexy as hell but I refuse to run a case on my phone and I've heard the case scratches so easily. So I may go for a white one because it doesn't scratch so easily. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone check out both of them? What do you you guys think?

Btw I'm coming from an iPhone 4.

you are right...

"Sure, it'll show scratches and dirt more easily than the black iPhone, but I'm fairly careful with my iPhone anyway."

Actually your white iPhone 5 will probably be LESS vulnerable to scratches than the black one. And it's all due to that shiny metal band, you mentioned. On the black version that band isn't shiny, but black anodized aluminum, and several reports say that the black coating is easy to scratch thru, exposing the shiny aluminum underneath. Which saddens me - 'cause I preordered the black iPhone 5 :-(
now that i think about it, i would get pretty annoyed if my black ip5 got scratched...i also don't use cases on my iphone BUT i do put one on every time i go out to drink/party.

I ordered a black 32gb through Verizon on the 18th and it arrived on the 24th. Some people have been complaining that their phones have come scratched right out of the box. Mine was completely immaculate. I put it in a case right away. I'm not taking any chances. I bought a Poetic Atmosphere case that has a clear frosty back. Still shows off the back of the phone.

I've had my 5 for about a month now. So far, super stable, great performance, just solid all around. The only thing I've not been super impressed with is the battery life. My 4 could go 2 days of normal usage between charges. I can only get 26~30 hrs between charges on the 5. My thinking is that I have some app that just siphons charge and I haven't been able to pick it out. I know my Toyota Entune app takes the battery to the cleaners (phone physically warms up when running). I saw an Android screenshot that showed what percentage of the battery each app/function was using. Anything similar for iOS? I'm usually pretty good at flushing out these bad apps, but no luck so far. I'm thinking it might be the nasioc app. *glares at Nick*

I'm also noticing that the battery suffers on standby when tapatalk is left running. ****ing forums.

2013 Subaru BRZ: Keyless and iPhone Don't Mix

Quote:
A number of the truly keyless, proximity-based smart entry/start keys don't like to work when face-to-face with an iPhone -- and by that I mean, literally, face to face. Keep most in your pocket alongside our favorite addiction and, if the phone is between the FOB and the car, it's unlikely to work. Switch places, however and it's fine.

You -> pocket -> key -> phone = bad
You -> pocket -> phone -> key = fine.

Unless it's the Subaru BRZ's key. It can't be in the same pocket or gym bag as an iPhone and still work. Big deal? Not really, but I keep my wallet in one front pocket and my key/phone in the other. This car just requires a different routine.
Overall not a huge deal, but funny.

Weird, I never had an issue when I still had my 4S. It always responded immediately to my touch on the handle.

I have had a few replacement backs from sw-box.com for different color options as my solution for not having a case. I thought it was very simple to install and fit very good. Most of them I chose brushed metal though, and I lost a bar or two of service and even some wifi speed. And in my area, that bar or two was very important, so I went back to the regular back with no case anyway.

Anyone looking for a Magpul-like case before the Magpul case comes out in "a few months" (in Magpul speak, this means in 2 years from now after the iPhone 6 is released), I got a Urban Armor Gear case and its very similar to what Magpul would make. Of course, it's not bargain priced like Magpul cases usually are, but its the closest thing available right now.

*taps foot impatiently*

Magpul cases are bizarrely good. Initially I only bought one because GUNS ARE AWESOME BRO, but it ended up being the best case I've owned for any of my phones and the only one I've liked enough to keep using long term.
