Default 01 RS to 05 WRX engine / dash swap

Before, perfectly good RS interior.

During.

After, Uhhhh yeah..... (What a proud poppa!)

Out with the old

Not quite in with the new

06 STi dash beam installed, 05 WRX wiring harness, heater boxe's,blower, steering column etc........

Engine is in, harnesse's routed, holes in firewall filled in and painted. I/C is not fully secured as we still need to run heater lines etc... just wanted to make sure it starts.

The proud papa in red, the mad scientist (me) in black.

All that's left to do now is heater hoses, radiator hoses, Headlights / taillights, sunroof and put the dashboard in But hey, at least it runs. Not bad for 3 saturdays 12 to 7

Pretty sweet job, was everything fairly straight forward? You left the a/c out, how about the p/s?
Congrats,
Tony

Minor wiring, it is all "simple circuits" (non engine related)

We just need to do the door wiring (speakers, windows, locks, mirrors), Headlamps/taillamps, and sunroof/map lights.

I say simple circuits because for the most part it is either off or on, no engine management related junk.

Nice. I was wondering why people went through the huge expense and effort of wiring it all together when they could basically just swap everything. Only real wiring I could figure is thing such as power windows, lights, rear defroster, etc.

ya i can take some pics and put them up. i guess i probably should have done that years ago. if your considering a dash swap i can tell you that there will be some gaps but when your inside the car driving it looks pretty good. personally the gaps dont bother me and it makes the swap easier imo since you dont have to hack up the ecm wiring.

Good to go, Thanks, if you can't get them all posted shoot direct to my email, I'll PM you with the address.. Any shots on fitment, good close shots, would be appriciated, I'll likely be putting an 05 WRX donor into my 00 couple, but I'm not sure how much will be "donored," I just get conflicting info as to the fitment, some people say it looks good, others say the gaps are horrid...

Quick question...

Did you run all the wiring through the firewall with the engine in the car? Only reason I ask is I need to transport my car mid-swap and wanted to put the engine/transmission/front suspension in prior to moving my car. I'm not bringing over the A/C or the cruise control so I would think there would be enough room between the engine and the firewall to sneak the limited number of wires through.

swap looks awesome, how doe she run?
