Default Will '05 STI crossmembers (both) fit a '00 GM6 + suspension swap questions

I did a quick search and didn't see this question asked.

The rear, I believe will work but if anyone has done this and can confirm it would be appreciated.

The front, I have no idea if it will work. I plan on retaining the NA motor. The reason I am considering doing this is because I will be installing the front control arms from an '05 sti, and would rather not have to replace the front bushing if I don't have to.

Further, I am concerned about sway bar / endlink fitment. Will I be able to run an sti front / rear bar with sti endlinks if I retain the original crossmember in the front? I believe the rear will work fine, but once again confirmation would be great.

Thanks for your help guys!

Tha front, Yes it will fit no problem.

If you run different sways, you need to be sure they bolt up, So no, you will need new endlinks if you run USDM WRX/STI (non wagon) control arms.

If you run the wider track of an STI you CAN get them to fit, but you need to jimmy rig it.

MOst RS and WRX/STI parts will mix, but unless you do your homework and make sure they fit, you will need to do some on the fly work.

I"m running an 02 front crossmemeber, with an 02 sedan front sway bar, 01 2.5RS front control arms. The endlinks dont' fit 100%. I used a few washers and some force to make them fit. Works fine, but isn't ideal.

catch my drift.

(I have what's called pre-load, which is the sway bar is under load or already under some stress.)

The crossmemeber will work, but your swaybars SHOULD match your control arms.

But you can make it fit, if you need too.

sweet! the only thing though is that you seem to be running a turbo motor with the turbo crossmember. will a na motor work with the turbo crossmember? from what I recall, it seems that the main differences are:

larger opening for the front control arm mount
a notch to accomodate the turbo motor

how will this affect fitment on a NA motor?

To answer your question, Yes, I am running a 05+ cross member and steering rack on a 96 Brighton with a 1.8L indeed the cross member is just notched, I should have shown some pictures with he two next to one another when I had the chance, it is something o do when I swap engines I guess.
