I use to have a WRX :(

Question Whos got the stoptech stage II kit on their Rex?

Looks like a killer set-up for the money! The Stoptech guys were quick to reply to my inquire and it seems like a perfect set-up for a street/solo...

Bill,

Stoptech makes excellent Big Brake kits for the WRX, and also supplies brake pads, stainless lines & brake fluid. However, I'm not aware of a "stage II kit" offered by Stoptech. Are you referring to a kit put together by someone other than Stoptech? Can you clarify?

Go to their website. Aside from the Big Brake Kit, they have assembled a stage 1 (pads, lines and fluid (I think?)) and a stage 2 kit (pads, rotos, lines, fluid) again, I think.. But great idea for the money. I am thinking about going with them as well.

There are vendors selling them for a good price on here and on www.rs25.com . Don't pay $1700 for them, you can get them for $1500.

After reading various peoples' experiences and advice here, I ordered the stage I kit (pads / lines / fluid) for $250. From what I was reading, most people are perfectly happy with the stock rotors for autocross.

My Bad. I finally found the kits on Stoptech's website - it's not like they make them all that easy to find, though!

Anyways, I bought the equivalent of the Stage 1 kit from Stoptech last year. Couldn't be happier. I'd recommend saving the $ and going with the Stage I, unless your rotors are already worn out - in which case the Stage II package is a pretty good deal for new rotors. BTW - The Axxis pads are pretty easy on rotors, so the stock rotors work just fine with them.

I put all of those stoptech items, sans the rotors on my wagon six months ago and I'm very pleased. My brakes have felt strong and predictable ever since, mountain runs, auto-x, traffic...The pads are dirty, but thats cool , here in SoCal you wash your car every week anyway out of habit. Now I need the rotors...
