Got word from Prova. THEY do have a GD wheel. We are trying to get some info on what model years it will fit. We will update as soon as we hear back from Japan.

I just installed this in my 07 WRX and the fit was perfect. As a side note you do not have to remove the airbag at all. Just rest it on top of the steering column as you unbolt and unscrew the wheel and install the new one. Now I do not know which method is safer but, if you are worried about unplugging the airbag you do not have to.

Wow... I wish I could see the install direction on a steering wheel that has that damn bluetooth crap on it. If I get one of these, I want to remove the bluetooth crap. I already have a headset (or 5). Would that be easy to do on this steering wheel?

Alcantara
I have alcantara on the seats and they have pretty much retained their color for three years....how does the oils from the hand affect the look of the steering wheel after a few years?

It will get matted down if you have sweaty or oily hands.
But you can use the shoe stuff they sell to bring it back to life. |

You should be able to.
First, you would need to install a 05 STi steering wheel and airbag(05 came with the single stage airbag, and the 06+ came with the dual stage). Once the 05 STi wheel is fully installed, you can then install the Prova wheel, using the 05 STi airbag. This would make for an awesome upgrade while still retaining the airbag for safety. Thanks, Rick |

Couple guy have run into this issue, what you will want to do is make sure that the clock spring is dead center when the wheel is dead center. |

On the left of the picture, its the black center section around the steering input shaft that the steering wheel splines slide over and has the wires coming out of. Kirill RallySportDirect.com |

Thanks, I will check the services manual for details too.
So if I align the new steering wheel with two plastic pin, will it guarantee I put the new one exactly the same position as the one I took off? There're so many teeth on the shaft I'm a bit worry I'm off by one... |

The clock spring can spin free when the wheel is removed. so you need to make sure to park the car straight when you get ready to take the wheel off so its easier to re-align the pins if you on accident bump it out of place

Thanks! I think what I'm going to do is when the airbag is off, I will put some tape on the clock spring and it's surroundings so it won't spin around. Then I can just align the new one with those two pins on the clock spring and I know I set it into the correct teeth. Any advise?
