Default bushings, adapters, and senders (oh my!)

Here's a hopefully simple noob question for you--I know that subaru makes a plug for the oil gallery hole that has a female 1/8 BSPT connection available. But then if you have a sender with 1/8 NPT you just have to get another adapter to go between the two. My question is, is there an adapter that can just take me directly from the gallery hole to 1/8 NPT?

Question 2--what's the difference between adapters and sender bushings? Don't they both just take one pipe thread to another?

just take an extra plug, drill and tap it for NPT. and away you go. also, if its a large sending unit, you might want to brace it, as mine (on my truck) broke off, and made it real hard to get out the broken piece
