Default EJ22T part #'s please

I know the shortblock is 10103aa310 but does anyone have a listing of the part numbers for just the block and the different internals. THanks!

Eric

Depending upon how much boost you eventually want to run, you may want to look into aftermarket pistons/rods as opposed to the stock EJ22T parts. Just an FYI.

That's why I want the part umber to just the block. I am definetly going to change the pistons (once I get the ball rolling) after what happened to Dan (Dannyatwork).

You might want to try a junkyard and then just replace all the bearings and make sure the cylinders are smooth or hone them out a touch to make them smooth. You'll be replacing everything else, might as well, right?

The block, crank, rods, pistons, and all associated bearings and -internal- seals (between the two halves of the block). I believe.

A 2.2L Turbo short block for a 92 legacy turbo is about $1500 from Subaru.

Thumbs up

Does subaru still have new short blocks or something? If so, put me down for one!

Chad- You have a 1.8 turbo? If so, what is that like?

Later,
Seth E.

What's it like?

Hm... depends on what you mean by that. It's nice, love the sounds, the pull and the power. It's probably a little more reliable than the 2.5's since the block is a little stronger, but doesn't have the pull of a 2.5 turbo. Parts are cheap though. My replacement block has 30,000 miles on it and was only $600 which includes shipping. Not bad. The exhaust manifold is also the same as the 2.2T or the 2.5 so I can fit the Borla headers in the future along with some nice 2.5 SOHC turbo heads from Cobb. I have a lot of work to be in the 13's, but it's all good.

Default 2.2 Shortblock + 2.5 DOHC heads

does this mean that the 2.2 closed deck shortblock will fit with 2.5 DOHC heads?
has anyone else done this? was there any problems with fitment, the intake manifold?
curious to see if this can work.
thanks...

Yes, someone has used DOHC 2.5RS heads on a 2.2 Turbo block. Chris, I forget the company he was from, but he had this setup. He made it for some of the Subaru meet in vegas last year. The car is white with a beat up hood. Anyways, with no electronics, he ran the 2.2L turbo block, 2.5RS heads, 2.5" up pipe, I forget the turbo, 3" straight pipe back, and 15 pounds of boost. He just finished puting the car together that day before driving the 6 hours to Vegas.

I got my complete EJ22T motor for $950 w/wiring harness, ECU and crossmember. It runs smoother than DLC's with twice the miles that his has

Just have to be lucky to find one in a junk yard. I think there might have been another one in Salt Lake, not sure what condition.
