OMGHi2U Any mountain bikers care to play around in NYC with me this weekend?

** EDITED FOR NYC RIDING SUNDAY 9/10 **

Anyone interested in the 4-borough NYC Tour de Cole this weekend? (Staten Island can suck it. ) (road bikers welcome of course...)

I'm looking to ride for 6-8 hours, hit a couple of East River bridges, take a lap around Central Park, Yankee Stadium, whatever. I promise (and require) frequent rest stops, and we'll grab an outdoor lunch somewhere in the Village or SOHO. Lunch + snacks + beverages = $15 - $25, depending on tastes and appetite.

Sunday is better for me, but Saturday is open. Post up or PM and we'll figure out where to meet. I live in Clifton, NJ. We can meet there or elsewhere in NNJ and hit the PATH train (bikes welcome), or we can just meet up in NYC somewhere. I do this a couple of times a year, if you might be interested some other time.

I ride a hardtail mountain bike with 60psi street tires, meaning I can keep up with many road bikers on pavement....for the most part. I do take my bike off many sweet jumps.

I've been thinking of getting 'street tires' for my mt bike, pretty pointless to have the big knobbies in the city. I'm busy this weekend or I'd join you at least for your Brooklyn leg. You will be going over the Brooklyn Bridge, right?

Sounds like fun...but I don't think I can ride on Sunday. Let me know if you ever want to hit some singletrack.

Your title is misleading. I don't ride bikes but I do like to play around with strangers.

j/k

Enjoy. This weekend is supposed to be like 78 and beautiful.
