Well to be honest, it just feels like a much more rounded package. My Impreza was an early production run car and had a few things I didnt like about it.
The XV somehow has better seats, at least better than my old ones. They're supposed to be the same seats but the new ones feel noticeably firmer.
It's also a lot quieter, other than the noise the tires make at 60mph+. Totally tolerable.
The gearing- it feels a little better. Somehow the shifter even has a firmer and more direct feel. On paper they seem like very similar cars, but driving tje XV just feels better to me.
I was really taken by surprise. I truly thought it would feel too much like the Impreza.
There are actually quite a few upgrades over the regular impreza, its much more than simply a lifted Impreza.
Also, I own a 6x12 trailer for yard tools/mowers. Its nice to know that adding a hitch and *occasionally* towing wont void the warranty.
