Has anyone found a place for replacement lenses for a Blobeye?

Short of ordering a set of DEPO's and cannibalizing the lenses?

I have several weird questions, so bear with me.

I just purchased an automatic car that I will be driving to work and on days when I am physically unable to drive stick shift. The vehicle uses separate high/low bulbs, and while the low beams have a projector (rather than a reflector), it still uses a halogen bulb.

I want to purchase either an HID or LED (low beam) kit to use with those projectors. The flavor for the low beam is H11b. Whatever the STI's color temp and output are, I strongly like both. If I go with an HID kit, I would like a similar color temp (and output.) From what I can ascertain, it appears that my STI is around an HID equivalent 6500k...however, I am not a great judge at this. I can't even really start comparing brands to figure out what brand I want until I know what color temp I am looking at, and whether I can generalize the quality across one reseller's larger product line.

Essentially, while I know there are some fundamental differences between LED and HID...
  1. What HID color temp would best match the temp on the (current) WRX STI's LEDs?
  2. If a Maker offering an HID kit in another size, such as H4, has an outstanding overall reputation, can this be generalized to other headlights (specifically, H11), or is it common for a Maker to offer a great kit in one headlight size and a totally terrible one in another?
  3. Based on this thread, I gather that most HID kits sold by companies are usually rebranded ballasts/bulbs made by one of only several companies...is there any sort of list that specifies what manufacturers are used by the various resellers, or am I going to have to send emails to these resellers one-by-one?

Thanks much!

Is anyone running an LED conversion kit in place of the OEM D2R bulbs? Wondering if I should make the leap.

You should NEVER install a bulb of one type into a housing designed for a different type of bulb. At that point, you need to be researching retrofits.
