Help With Installing JDM Oval Side Markers
Does anyone have the template? I've been searching threads and all the links are dead.
Someone please post. Is this the same one? http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulle...16/index3.html

Yes it is.
When you print it, make sure that Adobe Reader does not crop or reduce the image. Print one set and match it against the car's body-lines so that you are assured that it's printed at the correct size. I highly recommend that you use a Dremel tool with a special cutting wheel for metal only. I also went ahead and purchased a 90-degree angle-adapter for it so I could be more comfortable when cutting. If you can wait another week, after September 17th, send me a PM and I'll take a look at which cutting wheels I purchased, should you use a Dremel tool. When you do attempt to do this, I also recommend putting white masking tape down on the fender so that you can properly mark the opening using the template. I also recommend that you remove the fender-liners. In this manner should the cut piece of fender drop in, you can retrieve it. Also, you can make sure you can vacuum out any metal cuttings that fall inside. This too would be a good time to remove any dirt or debris from the bottom of the fender-leg at the rocker-panel. Remember that the same in wood-shop applies here as well: measure twice and cut once. Cut the hole slightly smaller than you need to so that you can take your time to shape it properly and get the right fit. Good luck! |
