Default Access Port; Question

Does the access port for the 07" subaru STI refresh the ECU ??
And if it does, is it a good first investment?

Actually it 'reflashes' the ECU. And it is an excellent first investment. Check out Cobb's site. http://cobbtuning.com/

Only thing to be wary about is if you are worried that the dealership will detect the reflash and deny you for warranty stuff. Most won't unless the problem is directly related to your mods.

If you are willing to properly maintain and check the boost on your car you shouldn't have any problems what so ever.

Its a really good investment if you mod your car..Also the AP fixed the throttle hesitaion on my 07' STi

if your car is stock its sorta a waste since the price is so high compared to the acual performance you get

EM is only worth it if you can get a custom tune IMHO.

....i agree for the price of the STi and the performance you get is awsome..But what im saying has nothing to do with whatever your talking about...Im talking about the Accesport how its 700$ and for the price you pay its not really worth it unless you mod your car and can get your moneys worth by tuning to your mods...which is my opinion

It didnt do much for my STi when it was stock until i modded to stage 2

It's a good place to start. Like others said there won't be that much of a performance bump in the beginning, however as you add more parts, it will help you dramatically rather that not having it. It's the basis for modification. Plus, if you decide to go with a larger turbo, you can have a custom tune done and installed on your AccessPort. It sets you up for the future.

Wouldn't you be able to just reflash the ecu to the stock map when taking it in for service?
