I had the same thing happen to me. I scuffed them with a scotchbrite pad and painted them with krylon fusion semi gloss black. Stuff works great, I've used it on a few things with no issues. I actually like the contrast that it gives the front end too.

yeah I guess its not bad...now I have to do the mirrors, door handles and roof to make it match

anyone paint the grill flat black?
