Also they will tell you which radios are guaranteed to fit and if you buy from there it comes with the kit for free.
Would you recommend your deck over the Pioneer Pioneer AVH-P3300BT, which comes with the limited trim Impreza here in Canada.

I wish like hell there were some aftermarket options for seats. I'd kill for a nice pair of recaros. My stock matress spring seat has zero support and sqeaks like an old rusty mattress! They keep promising to fix it...

When i start to think about it i wonder why Subaru cant have a quality stock radio. We all can pay 150 retail for a really good radio with all the conveniences of our stock unit plus better sound. makes me wonder what our radios are worth.

part of the problem isn't just the radios, but poorly chosen default EQ curves. for the limited, thankfully, due to some people who tinkered around, one can defeat the default EQ curves and loudness circuitry.

after having installed the tweeter upgrades into the dash, i am pleasantly surprised at how the stereo now sounds. it's not audiophile quality, but it is clean, what bass is there is taut, and the midrange is decent enough with crisp, and fairly natural.

i'm sure there is some way to poke around the premium or base model units...someone just needs to find out how to get into the firmware like they did for the limited models.

I had installed the Kicker tweeters too, I went from factory Subaru OEM ones to Kicker ones and even that was a big difference, I would like a better head unit now.

There is only so much you can tweak when the power output is close to 10 RMS. Its really a terrible head unit.

So did I but it wont get loud enough for a Sub to not drown out the highs and mids.

Any sub in general. I have a couple Amps a Mono 1000 W Kenwood and a 2 channel Kenwood 650w amp sitting around as well as a boxed 10" cerwin vega sub (matched to the 1000w)

Im really not sure i want to go that route in this vehicle it really does make a world of difference in the sound quality. If i did that would mean the head unit will need to go first.

Well, I just got mine (Premium, non-nav, stock speakers) and have spent four days in it. The bass doesn't quite hit as low as it needs to (say when playing some Skrillex) and the highs were not getting good separation (Dave Brubeck's Take Five). That said, I'm not sure if it's the headunit or the speakers, but after being in the car for 800 miles in the first 3 days of ownership, I don't think I'm going to want to replace the headunit. It may look like it's from 2001, but it works well. I may just flip out for the Kicker speakers and call it good.

I went with Kickers, just bc I have used them in the past and they had great reviews, but did not get the ones from Subaru... all you need are the speakers, the toyota speaker harness, and some self tapping sheet-metal screws. Ditch the install screws that come with the speakers (they are crap!) The install took about a hour.

Do you have a link for the speakers? The Subaru Kicker ones are $190.

Did you do a custom box? Do you have pics of the setup?
