Anyone install (or remove) your OEM cross bars? Not the aero ones for Sport models, just the plain cross bars. The screws are in so tight I can't get them to budge. They're star shaped (torx) screws & the part came with a screw driver. Had a few others try as well. I'm going to try with a drill bit attachment tomorrow but I don't want to risk stripping them. Anyone have any advice who HAS done this? I don't want to have to go & spend money on install after I saved it with my double discount codes.

If you are ordering a stereo from crutchfield you will need to Select 2012 WRX because they havent confirmed the install kit for the normal impreza.

I remove mine every so often (wash, long trips, etc) and mine were never on there that tight. I wonder if your dealership put too much torque on them when they did the install.

I actually ordered the part myself & it came with the torx screw driver & instructions. So as of now, the screws are on the cross bars & I can't get them off to install the part at all. I'm really trying to avoid the dealer since I know they'll charge for labor for what should only take me a few minutes. Someone on the main Impreza thread recommended heating them with a hair dryer. I'll try that first.

No i dont. SELECT the 2012 WRX and then you should have all the correct install equipment listed as well as directions and harness with the purchase of your new stereo.

Awesome find but I would think picking up a rear sway bar from a 2011 STi is a way better deal. I guess we can group order if there is enough interest?

I'm not sure about the 3300, but I had the cheaper version (in my Nissan XTerra)... I think it was the 2300. I have two gripes about the AVH-2300 headunit. First, the Ipod interface is on the front of the deck. This is a huge downside in my opinion. It's fugly to have the wires hanging off the front of it and it's a pain in the ass to remove the cables and put them away when its not in use too. Second, is the shuffle of the Ipod. The shuffle is driven by the head unit rather than the Ipod itself and it doesn't seem to mix the songs very well. Also, every time you unplug the ipod, the shuffle resets and It seems to start over and play the same songs. I have like a thousand songs on my ipod and it seems like I always hear the same stuff in the car.

Nah, I'm really not liking the Sony interface at all. I would however suggest going to the 7 inch pioneer which is very similar to mine. (I forget the name)

there any drone in the cabin? Very interested in doing this, that muffler is pretty cheap and I've got a few good places that can do the install for me locally

Sounds awesome btw

It sounds pretty good, I would pick one up too if it's at the right price; however, I think I'll just wait and get a muffler shop to custom fabricate me a mandrel bent axle back instead.

Has anyone looked at struts for their Impreza? I've been looking at these ones:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultra-Racing...905907&vxp=mtr
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MEGAN-Race-S...1cef9b&vxp=mtr
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Fla...390845&vxp=mtr

I've contacted all three sellers and they all claim that it will fit the 2012 Impreza, which I am doubtful of.

the Muffler can be had for ~$55 through Amazon, and my local places will do the install for that or less.

Im curious why would you spend the money on a Strut brace? Do you plan on Auto Crossing the vehicle?

They fit the 2012 Impreza WRX/STi but likely not the N/A Impreza. Unless someone wants to guinea pig and buy one to see.

Cusco makes some for our generation/chassis code (GP7/GJ7), but they are just a little more than the ebay ones you posted. Someone else posted this a little while back, but here's the link to the Cusco versions.

Thanks. There is no drone in the cabin. It might if you remove the resonator. I didn't do that. I got it done at the shop for $100 OTD. I provided the tip.

Check this site.

If you can find someone with a stock STI RSB, I would do that, there is no need to pay that much for a aftermarket.
I put 2011 STI RSB in mine and it really helps, a lot less body roll and better at taking corners.

If you're looking to stiffen up the chassis you should go with sway bars first. When I talked to the guys at Cobb, they said there isn't much gained from installing one except to have a place to mount things. They said that installing aftermarket sway bars works wonders for our cars.

Just curious, does installing an aftermarket hitch do anything to stiffen the rear end? I just had my dealer install a Curt hitch and it looks good and heavy duty- must be a class II as it's rated for 2000 lbs.
That's kinda over kill for a bike rack so I was wondering if it helped at all as a stiffener.

I ordered the front strut bar from a Cusco dealer in California. It will arrive late July. $170 plus shipping.

And here is the flexible strut bar from Subaru Canada video. This one is $450 bucks- screw that.
