after much research and trying different things on my own, i've found, what i feel is the simplest solution to this mechanism/strap idea, figured i might as well use my thread to dump info incase others want to do the same.

one end will look around the ball/cable that pulls the latch, the other will be around the strap.
i just hope i have enough room to hook this up inside the actual door, which i think i have ample room.

here is what it looks like, its the PKT safety brake cable:



the reason this is ideal, is the clamps are small unlike mose bulky U-wire clamps, its a clean designs, and is easily adjustable with an allen key.

few small updates,

suspension is back together, waiting to get my wheels and then i'll throw it all together again.

this time i switched top hats, went with STi Group-N. rear is just USDM STi top hats, coilovers are KW clubsports.



got my gauges in, 52mm defi racer temp and pressure, gotta keep an eye on the oil!



and now my plate is perfect

okay, so after a 5 hours of aligning it, MY GOD i'm in love all over again. such a great handling car, i can't get over that aspect of it.

here are some cellphone shots from today...i lost my camera charger so i'm kind of screwed till i get a new one NO idea where it is.











went to a drive through...had to get out because i couldn't reach the window i'm not even that low.
