I never once saw a Premium one which was honestly the best trim level they made for it. Clearly there is a market, but Subaru F'd it up.

I guess having a "sport" model with orange trim everywhere is good enough now though...
I somehow missed this post before. I am sure it is a regional thing; but, the premium XT just wasn't the "draw". We had them sit longer than the Tourings. I agree it sucked to have them at such a high price; but, still think it was that PLUS premium gas that did it in. I believe that when(my opinion) they bring the FXT back, it'll have an engine running regular gas. I think it'll be a variation of the SGP WRX engine.

Meanwhile, my huge dealer couldn’t keep any XTs on the lot - every last one flew off the lot. They trade other dealers to fulfill XT orders. Tons of Touring rolling around. Way more than the “5%” BS I’ve heard.

If you are referring to Heuberger, they kinda don't count. They sold mad amounts of everything(except BRZ ). Well, back then anyway. And they sold them at crazy low prices. They could very well have contributed a large amount to that 5% by themselves. But, I'm sure it was more of certain areas. I don't doubt they were bigger sellers in high altitude areas. As for your dealer trade scenario.....well, we couldn't get rid of them. We'd even "force" them on other dealers. If a dealer wanted a high value unit, we would tell them they had to take one of our old age units as well. FXTs were that several times.

Colorado Springs and Memphis are definitely different areas. Kind of hard to compare the two.

But we come from these Subaru popular areas and like different types of Subarus. When you're drowning are you going to get excited about being offered a cup of water? That's us. In these areas. DROWNING IN A SEA OF LAME SUBARU. It's great Subaru sells lots of appliances. Whoopdedoo for Memphis! In Portland or Denver or Seattle or all the other Subaru heavy cities Subaru is ubiquitous and saturated and seeing another Outback or Crosstrek or Forester is depressing. Which is why any small selling trim or model is exciting and quickly moves off the lots. Different and variety is a good thing. It's why I like the hood scoop. DIFFERENT!

Total sales numbers ala Toyota or Honda and their loyal sheep can go eat **** somewhere else-like California.

Hood scoops help with cooling, but create more drag.

Subaru's "loyal" customers aren't dependant on hood scoops and turbos and manual transmissions, just FYI. Those guys are like Twitter users: very vocal and very minority, much like those vehicles they yearn for.

I wish the touring had the optional black leather (I havn't seen anything in writing/adds). Wife is not a fan of the brown leather. Will be looking into a Limited XT.

Wow the screen is as big as the steering column! Seen the Model S, seen the new Dodge Truck, now this. Someone is going to outdo all of them and put an even bigger screen soon.

You should have joined the AF and worked to be a drone pilot.

Don't tempt me. I absolutely love heights, including aerial views.

I'll just wait for that tech to reach passenger cars.

We had a 2020 Outback here today and I was only able to get 15 minutes in it. As of right now, I have many more complaints than compliments, though that is speaking to the 11.6 soo far. It is HOT here and when I turned on the car, I had to wait for the dang thing to say hello and tell me not to mess with it while driving before it would allow me to change the temp. I think that is user error and may be a way around that. Maybe I'll get more time in it before it's gone. While I was playing with it, I called a guy who has been asking me questions every week since the debut to come look at it and he left with a Legacy XT Limited Sold Order Number in his hand. So.....OK......I'm a salesman(Pre). I just won't get paid on it.
