Yeah this is a great event put on by Willamette (I believe??). I remember my dad running it the late 90's -- But I thought they cancelled it due to insurance reasons?

Good to see that it is back!

Thought I'd throw up the schedule and directions in a more easily readable format.
I'm thinking about attending this event. It sounds like a lot of fun could be had.

It's a hill climb... read the pics above.

Start at the bottom at a predetermined point, run hill as fast as you dare, find out how you place against other drivers in your class. I believe (never having run one) that each car is on course by itself or with a one- (or two-) minute window for safety.

it is all paved, very smooth except a nice little groove the whole route in the middle of the course, than you ODOT.... (long story)

the rules are set up like Solo2, but there is a little more strick saftey and tech.

you have to have a fire extiguisher, battery tie down, all fluids to the right level, lugs tightend to the right spec`s, helmet, long sleeve shirt & pants, (suite is preffer`d, did i miss anything?

Thumbs up

Definitely a fun time for competitors. We have three hill records in my household (my wife rocks BTW).

http://www.wmclub.org/hillrecords.shtml

HS
GSL
Rally

Erik, you should go for sure. That Rally record should be easy for you to beat. My rally car is slow... Line up last in your run group and CUT the corners taking out those silly cones. The workers will love you for it (!) and your times will benefit. I say line up last because you will strew gravel all over the course in cutting the corners. You don't want to ruin the run for the car directly behind you. All corner stations will have push brooms so it's not a big deal as long as you go last.

This is not a safe event though. This is basically a short tarmac rally. Rally safety equipment, like a roll cage, is not required. People have gone off the road at this event and have been hurt badly. Cars have gone off and been hurt badly as well. If you race at this event in your street car please drive with your head. EMTs are on site though and they have a good safety plan but you are in the middle of nowhere...

Best regards,

Charles Buren

My rally car is an Open class 2.5TS, it's slow.

If I do go, I'm likely either borrowing a car or running it in the forester.

After looking at Dave's pics, I'm reminded that shoe polish numbers look unprofessional.
If anyone is going from the NW that wants numbers/class vinyl, get in touch with me at the shop - Send us a PM

You got enough time to swap a Ver. 8 into the car and get it running

You seem to be very good at spending my money.
Maybe you should put your money where your mouth is and come out and play with us.

That said, I have to sell my GC RS&SPs first. Wanna buy them?

Quik threadjack.

Erik, could you please comment on the comparison of the RS&SP vs the Tein HG Rally that you had on your Legacy? Thanks in advance!

Is there any Navi book? Or route book or anything like that? Trying to figure out if having a passenger lined up would be good or bad.

There are no passengers allowed.
